I actually think odds are good we move him, but yeah,. if we do it's going to be a good deal on our end. I'm still surprised he's not a Cub yet, he makes a ton of sense for them and they match up so well with us as a partner.

If we are trading with the Astros I'm guessing it would have to involve Daz or Tucker in some way (Reed would only make sense in a Freeman trade).

But I could get behind flipping Inciarte and Markakis and signing Cespedes for sure. We'd be in nice shape for late 2017 with our lineup if we did that.

I wonder if we have also checked in on bringing JUp back. I'd rather have him than Cespedes if we are dropping money on one.

Agreed on a straight player to player comparison, but I'd rather have the 35th pick or whatever and Cespedes than Upton. I wouldn't really want to sign either for more than 4 maybe 5 years either. I doubt either age well.

I'd imagine the fact we'd lose that pick is the main reason you don't hear us mentioned with Justin. That pick is about the only saving grace for the Olivera deal ATM.

I totally forgot that signing Yoenis would not lose a pick. Don't care if they sign him now.

It doesn't make sense for Cespedes to come here at this point and why would he want to do it.

The Braves roster is not yet competitively developed to a point that plugging him guys with their rebuild plans.

This is likely a smoke screen for another move.

Orioles closing in on Yo. When it comes down to it we know the Orioles are going to do what it takes to sign one of Yo and Upton so I still don't like the Braves odds of becoming a major player for him

Next Years FA List:

C:Jonathan Lucroy(32)
C:Matt Wieters(31)
1B:Edwin Encarnacion(34)
1B:Brandon Moss(33)
2B:Chase Utley(38)
2B:Martin Prado(33)
3B:Adrian Beltre(38)
3B:Justin Turner(32)
SS:Erick Aybar(33)
SS:Alexei Ramirez(35)
LF:Matt Holliday(37)
LF:Colby Rasmus(30)
CF:Carlos Gomez(31)
CF:Cameron Maybin(30)
RF:Jose Bautista(36)
RF:Josh Reddick(30)

Thats a piss poor market. I dont think I would want anyone on even a somewhat long term deal besides Gomez, and he will even be 31.

If we are going to win soon, then we have to start signing guys now, and Cespedes would be a great get as long as we dont go over 4 years. 4/85 is a deal that I think is fair.

That it is. And it's even worse than you have listed because Lucroy isn't a FA till after 2017, he has a 2017 team option.

Turner is the only guy I would consider remotely interesting, and even that would depend on this season and how Riley performs. Maybe Bautista since he would be a short term deal due to age.

Cespedes would indeed make alot of sense on a 4 year deal.
