Serena just lost, which is not that big of a deal. But, she only has two losses on the year.

Murray smoked Kei. Didn't expect that.

Pride, I just read on a board that Harrison and Kokkinakis almost went to blows in the Cincinnati qualies. You gotta find out what happened.

Murray just won a long one in Montreal. A ten deuce hold for Murray in the third was the difference. I didn't see the match thread.

Warning: this is random

I watched a youtube clip today of an Agassi interview from several years ago, and he was talking about some of the top players and analyzing their games a little bit. That guy's ability to assess talent, strengths and weaknesses, and to generally analyze matches and matchups is crazy good. He'd be an amazing announcer and an even better coach. If I'm a guy like Jack Sock and I'm a great athlete and I can hit the shite out of the ball but I have no idea how to construct points or to choose my shots wisely, I hire Agassi, stat.

This interview was from 2009 and he correctly predicted that Murray would win Wimbledon but that he would win the US Open before he won Wimbledon. And this was just a casual aside in the interview, which was with both him and Steffi.

Somebody needs to be utilizing that guy's tennis mind. Just saying.

Djokovic just got a break back, but is still down a break in the 3rd set to Goffin right now.

Goffin is built like a 12 year old and ranked 14. That is pretty solid.

I'm hoping Nadal and Fed win tonight as they would likely play tomorrow night.

Lopez took out Rafa in Cincinnati. I don't think the result is so concerning as much as the lack of match play will hurt. Rafa should be OK in New York, though, if he is fit enough to grind guys down in some long 3 out of 5 set matches.

I'm not dealing well with this Rafa situation. I wish he would retire. I'm just not ready to live in a world where Rafa loses to Feliciano Lopez and I'm not even surprised. And Rafa isn't gonna have some turnaround like we've seen in the past (e.g. coming back in 2013 after injury). He's done.

It's funny because it's true.

Goffy's a really good player. His 12 year old boy build will hold him back from getting to the very tippy top of the game, but I think he's a top ten caliber guy.

I think you're underestimating the extent to which his athleticism just isn't what it used to be.

You are right. He is done. His results throughout the entire year bear that out. Got spanked by Kei Nishikori last week and then losing to Lopez. Just can't see him getting it back in time to win the US Open.

I sort of have this delusion that even though the foot speed and shot placement isn't quite there, that Rafa could still out endurance most guys.

I can't figure out why Grigor doesn't break through. He was absolutely abusing Murray, up a set and two breaks. Murray had no reason to fight back after winning Montreal last week, but he did. There might be some fitness issue, but after losing a little bit of energy late in the second, Grigor looked fresh and played solid in the third. I guess he is just inconsistent and mentally soft at times.

I watched that 3rd set last night between Murray and Dimitrov. Fitness was not an issue. I don't even think Dimitrov choked. Murray just took his game to another level down 5-2. There were some pretty awesome points in that match.

When Novak's on his fastball on a hard court, he ain't getting beat. Even holding serve against the guy is a real challenge.

Murray is really the only guy who even has a chance, imho, because Murray's game tends to frustrate Novak. But in a five setter, you can always count on Murray to start grabbing at his hammy at some point in the fourth set, and then Novak closing out the match by winning 8 of the last 9 games. Or something along those lines.
