Kyrgios apparently muttered some pretty derogatory stuff at Wawrinka. People on another board said it was something like "Kokkinakis banged your girlfriend. Sorry to tell you that, mate."

That Sampras motion is so simple, it seems crazy he can generate all of that power. The shoulder turn and knee bend/explosion do it, I guess. I suspect his arm is noodle loose, too. But, with all of that action to generate the power, the accuracy is mind boggling

The two most perfect motions, imho, in sports are the Sampras serve and Barry Bonds' swing, and both of them have that super simple quality about them. With Sampras, there isn't a millimeter of wasted motion. Same deal with Bonds. I don't know why I find strokes like that fun to watch, but I do. Agassi's backhand qualified as well.

Yet Serena is seen by some as the greatest ever in the literally worst era of women's tennis.

Either:
-you dont' know what literally means, or
-you don't have any idea what in the hell you're talking about.

Those are the only two options.

Hingis already Borged her way out plus injuries. But talk about a talent. She will be always underrated by the masses but never faced Serena in either one's prime.

How are you defining Hingis' prime to exclude her from having played Serena?

Serena / Hingis 2002

They played several times.

Edit: Serena has not exactly been consistent in her career either. Good for her the tour sucks so bad now. It makes her look like a "tough" competitor.

What's crazy about this is that it does not appear you are trolling. Which means that you are unaware of how blatantly blatantly wrong you are here.

In Chris Evert's peak, nobody could beat her until Martina focused on fitness and reached her peak.

And then from that point nobody could beat Martina for like five years, until Graf came around.

And nobody could beat Graf until Seles came along.

And it wasn't until that point that you had like more than two or three women who were even decent at the game. That's when Serena and Venus were on the scene, Hingis was playing, Graf was still playing, all 423 lbs of Seles was back playing. And so they could only sleepwalk through a tournament until the quarters, whereas Chris Evert in the mid 70s wasn't even playing a girl with a pulse until the final.

To the extent you have any argument at all, it would be that the women's game isn't quite as good at the very top end, but even that's questionable. There was never really a time when Venus, Serena, Hingis, Seles, and Graf were all their best.

Any argument about depth is just horrifyingly wrong. Like, you would be invited to punch yourself in the face type wrong. And your argument about the very top -- to the extent that is your argument -- is questionable to quite questionable.

Vika, Sharapova, Serena, and Kvitova can all legitimately play the game. It wasn't just a few years ago when Clijster was still playing and she was absolutely top notch. And now you've got a bunch of young guns coming up on the scene -- the muguruza girl, Keys, etc. -- who are all giving indications of being really good.

I think what you're probably doing is that simple minded thing where you connect a dot between Serena winning a ton with your imaginary conclusion dot that the field must be weak. Don't take that argument to the supreme court, holmes.

What that tells me is that Kokkinakis probably did in fact bang Stan's girl. I mean, that's a pretty specific thing to make up out of the blue.

Go Kokkinakis. Get your Dustin Johnson on.

I initially was pretty outraged by this Kyrgios thing, but now I think it's funny. I don't think he is even saying Stan's girl cheated with Kokk. I think he's just saying Stan got Kokk's sloppy seconds because Kokk banged her a year ago. My only complaint is that he mumbled it to himself like a b---h and didn't say it clearly to Stan.

Most of the tennis announcers seem to love Kyrgios because he can get Joe Sixpack interested in the sport. Gimelstob absolutely loves him and was just sort of spinning it that Kyrgios is actually a pretty quiet, humble dude off the court --- he just has a psycho alter ego on it.

Betting odds. They are given in terms of the amount of money you risk losing to win $100 (the minus ones), or the amount you will win if you risk losing $100 (the plus ones).

I don't think it's a bitch move. I think the psycho rage part is right. You only say that if, for at least a moment in time, you absolutely can't focking stand the man on the other side of the net. And when you really really wanna win, I think that comes with the territory. Some people just have better filters and leave those comments in their head.

Gulbis had match points against Djoker, didn't cash in, then got rolled in the third. Nishikori/Nadal and Tsonga/Murray yet to come tonight.

Halep-Radwanska was another one of those bipolar WTA matches y'all were talking about.
