Nolan Arenado without Coors Field is a carbon copy of Evan Longoria.

Basically, a .260-.270 hitter with 30ish HRs and a great glove.

Historically true... although he's been better than that on the road this season.

Peak Evan Longoria was an MVP caliber player

Nolan Arenado is an MVP caliber player

Seems like a solid comparison to me

Probably close to true. Arenado is 26 though with plenty of room to improve and Longoria has been one of the top 3B in the league since he started. Beltre is probably the only 3B who's been in the league the last 10 years that's been better

Offensively, Arenado would be more like Mike Moustakas away with Coors Field. And when I say Mike Moustakas, I'm referring to the player who's put up a .277/.333/.494 line over the last three years not the one who had a horrendous start to his career. Moustakas and Arenado are very similar offensive players. One just has the benefit of playing in Coors 81 times a year while the other has to play their games in Kauffman Stadium which has always a brutal park for power hitters.

And Larry Walker is a .285 hitter when he plays home games anywhere but Coors.

Armando has a better arm than Longoria ever had. One of the best 3b arms ever IMO.

I think he is the 4th best third baseman in the game behind Donaldson, Machado, and Bryant. He's probably in the 10-15 range of players in the MLB.

If we are talking about Peak Longoria, I don't think Arenado is to that level yet. And this no knock on him, peak Longoria was one of the best players in baseball. Arenado is better than current Longoria though.

He's the best 3B in baseball hitting and has a 1000% fielding percentage. Top 5 player in the league no matter what park he is playing in.

He's the best defensive 3rd baseman I've ever seen and his road splits have gotten better every year plus there is a "coors field hangover effect" that he wouldn't have to deal with elsewhere

You want to look at the season that Justin Turner is having at the plate right now?

He's crushing it.

Arenado still leading in WAR.

WAR trumps all.

Arenado is better.

Case closed.

Gavel.

We can all go home.

ETA: Unless JT is leading in WAR. Then it's not as important.

He's batting nearly .400.

His totals are down because he's missed some time.

actually JT is. At least on fangraphs but idk what it is on baseball reference

And I was really only talking about at the plate, not overall play
