Would you support a bill that raised taxes to rebuild the Superdome in its current location or somewhere in the nearby area?

Of course something more like Reliant Stadium; modern.

I don't see how it would be done. There really is no comparable stadium in or around the city where they could play games temporarily, like in Minnesota. Also, the main reason New Orleans hosts all of these big sporting events is because of the proximity of the Dome to hotels, restaurants, etc. If they built a stadium somewhere like New Orleans East (can't think of where else there would be space), we would most likely lose any shot of ever hosting any big event again.

I feel like you can't just keep rennovating the Superdome forever, and a new stadium will have to be built eventually, I just don't know how it will be done.

But to answer your question, I most likely would, if done properly.

Definitely would, but the problem is finding a good location. The location now is perfect.

Obviously it would have to stay downtown. Maybe clear out something near the river. Or demolish and play at Tiger Stadium for a season

It would need to be in the same location.

The Saints would likely have to find a temporary home for 2-3 years depending on timing. Could volunteer to play a few games in London and then have the rest of the home games in Tiger Stadium.

Nope. It has too much culture and charm the way it is.

If the city had enough money I would say knock it down, rebuild, and play for a year in TS. I know the majority here will say the Superdome is fine the way it is but in reality it is becoming more outdated every year in comparison to teams that have built new stadiums and gone away from the cookie cutter/ dome venues of the 60s-80s.
Building in any other location than the current one would hurt bids for major events

They'd need more than a season to demolish and rebuild on the same site.

as long as it is only on the ppl of new orleans maybe in 10-20 years, the whole state of la, not no but hell no. The Superdrome is fine with the exception of some renovations of the terrace such as better restrooms, replace the old multi-color seats with black ones, and a center hung video screen.

Don't get me wrong, I love going to the dome for games, but it's doesn't have that classic feel of say a Fenway or Wrigley. Eventually it's just going to be outdated, and not in a good way. Demolish. Rebuild. Host maybe more events; maybe World Cup, Olympics. Just a thought

When Benson was really pushing for a stadium they had two sites picked and mock-ups of the stadium drawn. I believe one was on the Westbank ( ) and the other was near the quarter.

The one near the quarter had a great view of the quarter from one of the endzones. I wouldn't have minded that one.

I live in NOLA, and no, I would not support that. The Dome is fine and there are lots of other things that are higher priorities.

That is my thought. Sure the city gets plenty of major events, but you aren't getting a World Cup or Olympics there until you rebuild

wouldn't want an olympics because it is not just building a stadium, you have to build a lot of things. Also with the olympics being in august and the threat of hurricanes would stop nola from getting one.

World Cup

Even if the US hosted a world cup, nola wouldn't host. Only MLS cities such as Dallas, Houston, LA, Seattle, NYC, Miami, and the giant butthole in ATL, would host.
