So I'm hearing Greenberg saying anyone who would pick John Stockton over Isiah Thomas is someone who knows nothing about basketball. Agree or disagree?

They were discussing the top 10 point guard list.

I'll take Stockton because I don't like Isiah at all.

I did not like either of them, but Stockton has the stats to back it up.

Isiah was the catalyst of two championship teams, so there is something to be said about that.

A person who is paid to be strongly opinionated is being strongly opinionated. Will wonders ever cease?

One was a stat hound. One was a winner.

Didn't the recent ESPN rankings have Stockton 4th & Thomas 5th?

Stockton 3rd
Curry 4th
Thomas 5th

Which is even more ridiculous.

No its giving up a sure lay up to get an assist which he did a lot.

My other reason for taking Thomas may be that Stockton was dirty. He was a great cheap shot artist.

His team scores either way.

Stockton being a dirty player is always thrown out there. I don't buy it. I never saw him as any worse than anyone else. Damn few coaches, or players, for that matter, wouldn't love to have Stockton on their team.

When the players in the league vote you the dirtiest player, I think they know what they are talking about. It does not mean he is not good, but it means he likes to bend rules and do things that are not the best things. I know some of it is sour grapes.

Possibly a little racism, too. Can't have Whitey beating you without some excuse. "Yeah, but he plays dirty".

Barkley said Stock was the most underrated superstar player during his time in the league.

Stockton is the greatest point guard ever. Period. One of the most underrated players because he never won a title, mostly because of Jordan, the GOAT.

Assists record by OVER 3700. He literally had 25% more than the 2nd best assist total EVER. That is INSANE.

Steals record by 500. Incredible.

AND he is #41 on all time scoring lists-52% FG shooter.

Only missed 22 games in a 19 year career, 18 of which came in one season. Dude was durable and a warrior. Averaged a double double (13.1ppg/10.5apg)

Above all that, dude was a great person. Never any trouble. Great role model. Used his money to give back.

No doubt in my mind, greatest PG ever.

Isiah's whole team was dirty. Watch the ESPN 30 on 30 clip about that team. Cheap shot artists all over the court.

Greenberg is like most idiots, he doesn't understand that teams win championships.

Give me Isiah everyday of the week and twice on Sundays. He could win a game by himself if he had to and could takeover a game in a second. Those are two traits Stockton never had.

Screaming A was trying to discredit Stockton bc most of his assists went to Malone.

You clearly never watched Stockton play. Stockton made the best basketball play every time, and could take over if necessary. But taking over is rarely the best basketball play.

Stockton was never dirty by the way. Dude played hard, but always within the rules.

Pretty good idea to pass it to the 2nd leading scorer in history. Steven A. gonna Steven A.
