I think this means two things, as Gilmore didn't even know until this morning.

1) They had big money budgeted for Bennett
2) They had 10 million or so budgeted towards Ryan.

As soon as they were able to trade for a cheaper TE, they said frick it, we will spend the savings and get a potential CB1 instead of a great CB2.

Holy hell.

Wonder what this means for Butler though.

I hope they don't. Especially if they want more than just Butler.

Somewhere along the line Brandon Cooks became worth a kings ransom and I don't get it.

Hes like 24 with 2 1000 yard seasons and 20 touchdowns.

Belichick was all over his nuts after we played them in the dome and again after the joint practices this past preseason.

I get all that, but he's not worth butler AND picks. Saints talk wants a Ricky Williams haul for the dude. Usually in cases like this where a team kind of has to trade the guy, his value depresses to a mid round pick.

Cooks has two years at 10 mil total left. That's why his stock is up. He's a bargain.

He's going To get a new contract wherever he goes. There is no bargain.

ST has gone full retard regarding Cooks. Just a month ago half of them would have dealt him for a 2nd no questions asked. Now that he's on the block they're trying to fluff him up as if they're trying to convince us to contact our team offices to deal for him.

Disclaimer I am Cooks fan. Just funny watching from the sideline

Butler has less value than cooks.

New England was already offering 32 so he is at least late 1st value. He's 23 and had 2/10 left, theoretically 3/25 if you tag him too. So you're off base with 'mid round'

Most posters are idiots when it comes to trades and overreactions over there...

Cooks should still stay on rookie deal and butler will get PAID. There's a difference.

Butler was tendered at the first round level, so they view him as having that same value

And the middle round selection was more of how it usually pans out, I never said that's what cooks should go for.

We landed on the moon.

And I don't think they are "trying" to do that. They have discussed it, but nothing has been reported that he has actually been offered in a trade yet.
