Same thing I was thinking, sell the bullpen, Fowler, Gyorko and Lynn and probably Wong if anyone would take him. Standing pat will frick them because CHC is going to be good for a while and it sure seems like MIL may be as well

On this board it's not even really a Cubs vs Cards thing it's more of a "frick the Cards" thing which I don't lie some of our posters (some who aren't around much anymore) kinda earned
It was a self fulfilling prophecy bc the board would say Cards posters sucked and trolled and in response some of our posters trolled even more

On another topic, I watched the Mets Cards game last night on ESPN and that crew of Ravech, Perez and whatever his name is (kurjian), they are awful.
Ravech and Perez were bad at college world series but that game last night was ten times worse. The commentary is awful throughout the game.

Let it ride. They are only 4.5 games back.
If the next week goes very poorly, then maybe do a soft sell to retool for 2018.
I would keep Martinez, Carpenter, Fowler, Pham, Molina, Cecil, and De Jong.
Gyorko and Wong are worth selling even for a low return. I really think Carpenter should move back to third and then they can buy a slugger in the offseason. Look at how poor the market was last year for 1B.
Most importantly, give Matheny a one-way ticket out of town.
