It has to be the NBA, right?

The NFL has its fair share no doubt, but it doesn't seem to be on the same scale. MLB and the NHL are inherently local sports, so no way they contend.

NCAAF has a bunch, but really seems contained to states (sans ND).

So, NBA for me.

Definitely NBA. People follow players not the teams.

NFL with the blue blood teams imo (Cowboys, 49ers, Bears, Packers, Steelers, Pats, Raiders).

Americans picking European soccer teams. Basically just whatever team they like in Fifa

I think locally NBA fans are pretty loyal. I think you'll see a lot Louisiana people say the NBA because they weren't raised with a team.

I wasn't raised with the NFL since the oilers left when I was 9. So everyone I knew that followed the NFL cared more about their fantasy team then the Texans.

That's only true to an extend. I like dirk but the mavs can kiss my arse.

however I have a hard time watching a 7 game series and not picking aside. NBA players can be very polarizing plus it's more fun.

I would have to go with boxing. Most people only care about watching one or two of their favorite fighters and that's it. How many people on this board have watched boxing fights not involving Mayweather or Pacquiao in the last five years? The top fighters carry that sport.

NBA for sure because a ton if people follow the star players so the team they are on is irrelevant.

You're going to have to define bandwagon because a lot of people don't know what it actually means

But yeah it's the NBA easily

Yeah but following players is an entirely different stratosphere from jumping on the bandwagon of a team now that they're good. Most people who follow players can admit it pretty freely. A bandwagon fan tries to act like they're lifelong diehards.

i am curious to where the line is drawn between fan and bandwagon.

I can only say i diehard LSU football. I casually watch Astros and the rockets but I don't live and breath either team like I do LSU.

The NFL just seems to have the most t-shirt fans of all professional sports. its the easiest sport to keep up with but people drop like flys when their team sucks.

It's the NBA. The league for decades has built its enire brand around its star players.

I would say I am a die hard Auburn and Denver Broncos fan. I watch a lot of Auburn athletics, mainly football/basketball/softball, but football is the most important in my mind.

I am a fan of the Boston Celtics and Detroit Tigers, but don't really live and breathe for those two like I do the others.

We also have to remember some states do not have professional teams, too.

I don't have one. I've always pulled for LeBron and other individuals. I sure as shite wasn't going to fake it like I'm some Pelican's fan just because the moved to NOLA.

ETA: And I've rooted for LeBron through thick and thin so to speak. I think it is comical that in a sport where 5 guys are on the court for one team at at time people take offense to someone who follows one of those players. Give me a Kobe fan or a Curry fan over a bandwagon 2008 New Orleans Hornets fan any day of the week.

NBA...for sure.

It seems like most people only watch the Finals...and when they tune in at the 11th hour - they pick teams based on players or whatever way the wind is blowing.

CFB fans are loyal - NFL is all about the city you're from. (Look how many Lakers fans live in the South because of Kobe, compared to no Niners fans in the South)

NBA is players like boxing.

I think NBA fans are pretty loyal as well. They may not be loyal for the reasons that others like, but they're loyal nonetheless. A Shaq fan or a LeBron fan is going to be just as loyal as a diehard Memphis Grizzlies' fan or a Houston Astros' fan.

The lakers/Celtics are the stealers and cowboys fans of the NBA. Their fans everywhere. A lot of that just had to do with who was on tv

North Louisiana went from Cowboys country to saints country in 06-08 like that.
