These prestigious colleges have better branding than Coke. You are assumed to be smart for attending them when the top few students at a state school are just as capable.

Stanford has a "communications" major, which Sherman graduated in.

Stanford got busted for helping athletes out but for the average student any degree at Stanford is much harder. Not to mention there is no way he would have gotten in if he wasn't an athlete with his SAT score in the 900s. Winston is WAY smarter than Thug POS Dick Sherman.
