Tell me all what you learn differently in Accounting at Stanford then LSU. Cant wait to ask the accounting guys from Cornell tomorrow what they learned differently.

Well when you have some of the best and most connected business people in the world teaching you things like how to price securities in capital markets, how you should deal with things like corporate governance and executive compensation and how to design performance measurement and incentive systems etc you probably are better off than learning it from some dudes that live in BR. You seem to think an accounting degree is all debits and credits but fail to realize when you are at a college like Stanford an accounting degree teaches you finance, analytical and empirical methodologies, economics, statistics etc.

Jameis does good on it: "Meh, it means nothing anyhow."
If Jameis had bombed it: "LOLZ HE SO STUPID!!!"

People that go to Stanford aren't going there so they can work at H and R Block dude. They are getting the degree so they can run some of the largest companies in the world.

Guys this shite is unreal. Check out what stanfords page says about accounting:

quote:

Research by the accounting faculty draws on economics, finance, and statistics and employs analytical and empirical methodologies to study issues such as:

The pricing of securities in capital markets, with a focus on the role of financial reporting and information intermediaries.
The design of performance measurement and incentive systems.
Best practices in corporate governance and executive compensation.
  Dude copies the shite to make it sound oh so fancy LINK

You wanted to know what the difference was and I told you. You are the one who said it is the same degree.

According to boom roasted, everyone must think Beastmode is really smart too. And idk, he might be. He's really quite and doesn't tailor his speech to his crowd.

I just don't understand how people can't see that Sherman was picked and put on a pedestal. It was the cool thing to do.

I know that dude. I am currently a Senior CPA in International Consolidations at the 2nd Largest media conglomerate in the world. I work most of the time in New York, where almost all of my bosses are from Ivy league schools. The benefit of those schools are the research opportunities and different concentrations that are offered by experts from around the world. However, for majors such as Accounting and communications, the course material is consistent across the board. BUT, what those schools offer in those fields is connections LSU could never dream of. It would be almost impossible for me to get my bosses jobs

I think our business school might be ranked ahead of Stanford's. Time to print the shirts.
