Floyd Mayweather is an enigma.
Outside the ring, he often displays immature behavior that suggests that of a feeble mind. In the ring, he has no peer and demonstrates the intelligence of a professor.
He hypnotizes his opponents, lulls them to sleep and then often beats them at his game or even the opponent's, depending on the task du jour.
Perhaps out of frustration, perhaps out of eagerness to see Mayweather tested, a common narrative nevertheless surfaces after each dominant performance: "had fighter X just done A, he would've beat Floyd."
The ease with which he dispatches opponent after opponent often leaves the impression that each opponent was either past his best, overmatched, cherry picked or all three.
That couldn't be farther from the case. Often these opponents prepare themselves to the peak of their abilities as they enter the ring with the knowledge that this win can alter the lives of their families and secure their legacies forever. Look for Mayweather to open the door, get on the floor, everybody walk the dinosaur.

Convince you to care about something you clearly don't care about?
Nah.
Nah.

Mayweather is the best nobody cares fighter of all-time. (which shows that boxing isn't dead because he's made the hundreds of millions.)
But nobody is lining up to Mayweather like Sugar Ray, Ali, Foreman, Duran...hell ask a boxing guy and they love Tommy Hearns more than Mayweather...and Roy Jones Jr.
So now Mayweather is going to destroy a braggadocios young MMA figher but a C boxer - in a boxing match and be declared greater more. Because he knows it will move the dial.
What a sham of a money-grab by everyone involved. (And Connor doesn't mind being embarrassed for two rounds and then end of fight, because he's now RICH!)

You should if you do. You shouldn't if you don't.

I care a lot. Free food and alcohol all night at the home of whomever is hosting it.
Usually, we're barely paying attention to the actual fight.

What would it do to either sport if CM would win?
What would you think then of MMs legacy?

Cm would be the king of the world if he wins, an instant icon.
Mayweather would be humiliated and boxing a joke more than it already is.
There is no pressure on cm in this fight. If he loses he was supposed to lose. He will make a ridiculous amount of money and can go back to the ufc and make lots of money there also and pick and choose the fights he wants to take.
Man i so hope cm shocks the world it will be awesome to see.

To be fair, you can say that about boxers in every weight class except the heavyweights. Sugar Ray Robinson is the greatest boxer of all-time but Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson is 100x more well-known than Robinson. A dominant exciting heavyweight captures the imagination of the public like very few athletes can. The boxers in the lower weight classes are relative nobodies by comparison.

I KNOW I said this for the Pacqiaou fight but I'm gonna watch this time. For reals.
