He went to a team full of superstars and made himself the alpha. The exact opposite of the picture you're trying to paint here.

Forgive me for holding the most naturally talented basketball player of all time to a higher standard than less talented players.

That was a career defining move. We'll always look back and think about what might been.

Agreed. Durant was worse. He left a team that has a 3-1 lead on a championship team. He left and the team made the playoffs, LeBron left and the Cavs were in the lottery. The animosity towards LeBron for leaving is very hypocritical for those that won't direct it at other stars who did the same thing. Shaq leaving the magic was virtually a verbatim example of LeBron leaving Cleveland from a basketball sense.

Lebron could have done the same in Cleveland the first go around

Durant left a guy who just broke the record for triple-doubles in a season and will likely be this years MVP. LeBron left Anthony Parker, Jamario Moon and Boobie Gibson in 2010.

So was LeBron

LeBron lost in 6 in the 2nd round in 2010. To a super team.

i mean we're talking about LBJ and KG

KG is way up there in the "most talented players of all time" discussion, too

I don't hate KD, but his move robbed us of an intriguing Western Conference playoffs and NBA Finals. It's a bummer.

Let me spare you the suspense - Cleveland never wins a title.

Cleveland was already heading to the finals. Why not? What makes you so certain?

We'd like to see more sticktuedness out of our GOAT. Second best ain't a bad spot. But carrying inferior talent to a title (something he has never done) is very GOAT worthy. Cherry picking players and hopping into a ready made super team. Is a weak move.

One of my first years of really watching basketball I got to see Allen Iverson almost pull this off. Almost GOATness man.

Didn't he do that last year?

I'm fine not having the MJ/LBJ conversation but in this regard LBJ carried a lesser talented team to beat a better team than MJ ever faced in the Finals.

no. Beating mabye the most injury riddled team in Finals history was not all that impressive. We don't give him credit for beating GSWs team that had 70 something wins. Bc he didn't beat that team. He beat a team with 3-4 of their top 6 players either out or severely hampered by injury in the last three games. Beating a squad when they aren't at their best doesn't get you a lot of praise from me.

That injury riddled team was still better than his.

Boston was still in the way, and in the 2010 free agency period, the Cavs could only sign LeBron with their cap space. LeBron, Mo Williams, Antawn Jamison, and company isn't beating any team that came out of the West from 2011 onward, and who knows what Bosh and Wade do if LeBron stays put in Cleveland.

Cleveland likely isn't rebuilding if LeBron stays put, so you can kiss that 2011 Clippers #1 pick goodbye, as well as the Bennett and Wiggins picks. LeBron was basically too good to allow Cleveland to build from the draft, and their contract situation was garbage.

Cleveland missed the boat with LeBron while he was on his rookie deal. He got them out of the top picks too quickly, they whiffed on free agent signings while his contract was cheap, and then it was all over.

Cleveland talent evaluation is the polar opposite of GS or OKC.

Why was GS favored in game 6 and 7 then, after Bogut went down?
