I can't put LSU in my top 5 without a proven QB

We won 13 games last year with Jefferson/Lee. I can't imagine Mettenberger being any worse.

1. LSU
2. Bama
3. Florida St. (my sleeper)
4. USC
5. Lots of teams could fit here.

Georgia- Good QB, light on his feet, and an improved defense they could make a run

USC- Lattimore and his crew will make a strong run next season.

Michigan- DR is exciting but not a good enough passer and they are to slow. Bama will expose them

Va. Tech- Impressive athletes at most positions and they have a favorable schedule. May make a run.

Arky- they do have Bama and LSU at home and they are always a tough W for LSU. With a little defense......

Arkansas defense wont be any better than last year. Their offense won be any better than last year--most likely it will be worse.
Arksnsas offense has little success against LSU D this year. Most likely LSU D and Arkansas O will be alittle bit worse. I see LSU's offense being the same as last year at worst. Basically I see the same exact thing happening this year that happened last year when LSU plays them. LSU will run the ball down their throats

Not at all. Jefferson had 25 yards total in the SECCG and LSU won 42-10. TWENTY FIVE YARDS...Tell me the last time a top 25 team had 25 yards total from their QB.

Not really. LSU has 12 returing starter, 6 on O and 6 on D, (plus 2 kickers). That put them tied for 9th in the SEC. One could argue that Russell Shepard is a starter, but he only caught 14 passes all year.

Offense: 6 — RB Spencer Ware, WR Odell Beckham, Jr., LT Chris Faulk, C P.J. Lonergan, RG Josh Williford, RT Alex Hurst.

Defense: 6 — DE Barkevious Mingo, DT Bennie Logan, DE Sam Montgomery, MLB Kevin Minter, CB Tyrann Mathieu, FS Eric Reid

LSU returns all 5 tailbacks which is HUGE.

No, it really can't. We haven't had good, consistent quarterback play since 2007. And I am not bullshitting you. I don't think the average fan can quite fathom how bad and inconsistent our quarterback play has been the past 4 seasons.

the defense will be alive by then

bama took a huge hit, in terms of who they lost. plus, LSU will actually have a qb next year.

don't think Alabama can beat LSU?

i think it's safe to say they can beat LSU, but i would have to say LSU will be the favorite and should be.

I think Alabama is Alabama circa 2010, but without Julio Jones and Trent Richardson. A very good team, but will probably lose a couple.

Maybe not, but the defensive staff upgraded significantly with Paul Haynes from Ohio State.

Say what? Last year we broke in 3 new OL. This year, we'll only have to replace 1.5 (1 completely new starter joined by another kid who started a few games before getting hurt). So the OL should be a lot better.

The running game should be miles better with the return of Knile Davis. Dennis Johnson should be healthy and not barely playing until the 5th game of the year as well. So having our 2 best RBs for an entire season, when neither of them are coming off of injuries in the spring/fall should be a huge shot in the arm.

Tyler Wilson ALSO doesn't have to play against LSU/Bama on the road. And it won't be his first year starting in the SEC anymore.

Say what you will about the defense, because it's a big question mark. But to say the offense will regress is just wishful thinking. Losing 2 big contributors from 2011 in terms of WR hurts, but WR is by far the easiest position to replace in college football.

Bama is dead last in the SEC at returning starters, bringing back only 10. Granted Bama has alot of depth, but the starters are the starter for a reason.

Offense: 6 —QB A.J. McCarron, TE Michael Williams, LT Barrett Jones, LG Chance Warmack, RG Anthony Steen, RT D.J. Fluker.

Defense: 4 —DE Jesse Williams, DE Damion Square, ILB Nico Johnson, FS Robert Lester
You could add CJ Mosely and Dee Milliner as starters on defense. Dee started as a freshman in 2010 and CJ played just as much, if not more, than Nico.
