What do you guys think? Legit shot? I've never really kept up with FCS, is there an "Alabama" that they would probably have to get through to win it in the playoffs?

The bison of NDSU....college Gameday was there earlier this year. Especially if they have to travel there, the Lions are in an uphill battle.

Eastern Washington and Montana are traditionally heavy hitters too. I don't know if they are any good this year. Over the last couple of decades, Montana is the real "Alabama" of FCS.

It's never easy for southern teams to travel to Montana in December when the snow is piled up on the sidelines.

I'm fully aware of what Montana is capable. The cowboys have made that trip to get their arse kicked. But NDSU has 2 straight National Championships, so they're currently FCS "Bama"

Zero.

If they win their first round game, they will have accomplished a great thing.

It seems like every year a SLC team, even the champion, has to go to Montana or EWU. Why is that? I hear that there is kinda like a "bidding" process for home games. Does anybody know?

Ok...if they win their first game, in general, they have accomplished something. That is what I meant..

there is. SLU is saying they will go all in to host as many as they can. But no idea what that means past hosting the first game

I was worried about the admin not supporting the success this season with a legit bid. Good to here they are ready to step up.

They're usually seeded higher.

Eastern Washington did come to McNeese a few years ago. They thought their weather, too, was freezing in the 30s and pouring arse down raining. Was a miserable game and they blew us out at home.

We also went to Missoula and got our arse kicked too.

...and went up there and beat them before as well. But also, Montana has come down here and won a couple times as well. It's always back and forth between those two.

Yeah, they're a machine right now. I honestly don't think anyone is going to beat them.

Because there is a bidding process. Universities put up a bid to host a game. Montana has a big stadium, always put up big bids, forces the southern teams to go up there.

One of my most frustrating games to watch ever @ McNeese. The conditions could NOT have been better for them to come down and do that. Plus our 2nd rd DE (Bryan Smith) was hurt along with 2 other starters. Count that then the weather/ I was there.

FCS, is there an "Alabama"

The only correct answer is GA Southern and their 6 National Championships! The most 1-AA titles in the nation!
