Saw this posted on another website and was curious y'all thoughts (probley been asked 100 times).
Mine would be North Carolina with the in state talent, also Virginia, South Carolina and Georgia recruits they should be more dominant in the ACC.

seems like I've saying that for years. Seems strange, to me, that they haven't been with the resources they have and what they can offer overall.

it seems somewhere like Rutgers could become more of a power, it's a massive school near New York City - but I have no idea of their facilities or want to spend money on football.

NC State is a bigger sleeping giant than UNC

I always thought Moo State could actually get a really good coach, start mining the Jucos of the state and keeping them home and become a consistently good program. They just have to worry about the AUs, LSUs, and Bamas year in and year out.... But the program actually has potential to compete year in year out

Double post, saying moo state is a sleeping giant twice is probably double cray

You can't really be a sleeping giant...if you continually sleep for 50 years.
Sometimes good, a very few times - almost great.
But never great.
We have 50 years of evidence...of try, try again.
You can't be a real sleeping giant if your last Rose Bowl victory was 1986.
And you history before never inspired...inspired "sleeping giant" hysteria.
Just like the NFL - just because you are in Los Angeles...doesn't guarantee some promise of success.
People think titles are gifted to USC because of their location...you still have to work at it and work to be good at it...and UCLA as the little Bruins...don't have the pedigree and strength to do that.
Always been a soft football school - always will be.
They have a nice top 15 history - but always outside the cusp...very good to very bad...but never great.
That's not a sleeping giant. That's a sleeping psyche.

Is this assuming A&M has already awoken...? Serious question.

USF
UCF
Does Florida International have a team? A big state school in a big city -- they could become a major program

No, but you have the SEC West and TEXAS and the other texas schools so that could hurt you.

Then the answer is easily A&M...

The clear answer is where talent is...but unused.
People like to say Washington...but what Washington achieved during their heydey is rare...
There is almost zero to no talent in the Pacific Northwest.
So find a school in Florida, Texas or maybe Cali...(that doesn't have a history of failure or when they had supreme access to Cali - still couldn't produce titles - like UCLA) - and that's your sleeping giant.) but too many schools...and too much poaching from the entire Northwest and Southwest...basically you have one state providing most of the talent for the Pac-12 ...California...another reason why UCLA isn't a sleeping giant...they have massive competition...and Oregon and Stanford are winning now...and USC wins all time...and before that...Washington wins.

You're not really sleeping if you've had 3 11 wins seasons in a row. A&M fits the sleeping giant a lot better since they're actually sleeping right now. I don't think they're a potential Giant though.
I would say Notre Dame, Michigan, USC,

Long term, I think the Sun Devils could rise in stock. Tempe is one of the better atmospheres in college football.

Aren't they ranked in the Top Ten this year? Can you really consider them to be "sleeping"?
