I know SEC teams have for years grown a small-dick syndrome all these past 50 years because they were never invited to the Rose Bowl - and well, that's just mean.

These past 50 years.

Nothing you listed is these past 50 years.

And yes,

It is small-weiner...because there has been nothing but complaints about being left out with the Big10 and Pac10 contract ever since I was a kid.

I don't think the SEC should have been left out - Rose should always be open invite - as the Granddaddy...but the SEC has bitched like no other about being left out of sunshine and pretty girls and the LA market for as long as I can remember.

They got the indoor turf game in the Sugar. Uggh. Carpet burns and fat chicks drinking Dr. Pepper. No thanks.

I grew up in the midwest (and was not a college football fan until I went to graduate school) but I always have loathed the pretense and arrogance I associate with the Rose Bowl. Almost everything that people think about it being true is a half truth or false. People call it the granddaddy of all bowls when it started one year before the Sugar. People think it has always been a matchup between the Big 10 and PAC but, as we have already seen, that's just not the case - it is a recent development.

The teams that dominated college football over the last 30 odd years have rarely, if ever, participated in the Rose to boot. Miami? FSU? Nebraska? The SEC champs of 03,06,07,08,09,10,11 or 12? No. The lone possible exception would be the 03/04 champs and that success is obviously well outweighed by the champions mentioned above.

This. The Rose Bowl is the reason we have playoff games on 12/31 this year.
