Like hell there isn't irony there. Black people can make it in this country. A little "personal responsibility" will go a long way.

Baldwin tweets about “pregame demonstration of unity” in Seattle Sunday

The Seahawks are planning “a pregame demonstration of unity” before Sunday’s season opener, Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin wrote on his Twitter account Thursday.

Both Baldwin and Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner spoke on the record Wednesday about the national anthem protest in which 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane have participated. Baldwin said he had considered joining them but hadn’t decided, and Wagner said the Seahawks had discussed some sort of team-wide act.

Without going into detail — and amid rumors that the entire Seahawks team might sit during the national anthem — Baldwin tweeted that the Seahawks have decided how they’ll handle things.

“To express a desire to bring people together, our team will honor the country and flag in a pregame demonstration of unity,” was his full tweet.

We’ll find out Sunday just what that demonstration will entail.

Baldwin had spoken Wednesday about understanding that Sunday is Sept. 11 and “a significant day” in American history. He stressed that he’s been “thinking things through” in regards to how he might handle the national anthem, but he’s spoken out on social media in support of Kaepernick and Lane.

As I've stated, blacks are the only oppressed racial group in American history that hasn't gotten some form of EXCLUSIVE reparations. shite they could hardly get an apology.

LOL. Please explain to me what in the frickity frick would qualify as exclusive reparations for the oppressed Black race in 2016.

And who exactly should fit the bill for these "reparations"? White people who had NOTHING to do with slavery, but their great great great great grandparents did?

naaaah, it's easier to sit around and whine for a handout

I mean what is it that black people want? You seriously can't think that a vast majority of white people, who had literally nothing to do with the heinous act of slavery, don't already feel bad enough about it.

I think would have been better off had we done what we morally and ethically should have.

Who? American taxpayers minus the descendants. I mean I had/have nothing to do with the land settlement / payments to native Americans earlier this decade. I contribute to it and we all do. Don't see u bitching about that.

Again, Great great great g paw shouldn't have left this burden to his descendants.

I'm hoping this means they'll all run out of the tunnel with flags and sparklers while "America, frick Yeah!" is blasted over the speakers.

maybe you should start a movement about it.
post about on your social media with the standard BLM hastags for likes.
whine about it on message boards.
then never have anyone of actual stature support said movement and/or suggest a real solution, besides "we want our reparations for the suffrage our greatX4 grandfather faced"

So a modern day black man is going to agree with this logic when someone demands reparations for the wildabeast thigh his great, great, great, great grandpa stole back in the day from the neighboring tribe?

People really are blind to how much a huge % of the US population hates America and wants to see it torn down.

It's time for people who actually love and respect this country to wake up and see these people for what they are and what their motives are.

America is by no means perfect, but it's still awesome and has bestowed everyone who lives here countless blessings most of the rest of the world can only dream of.

By this logic we should cut all entitlements and stop growing the national debt because, shucks, our descendants will have a mess on their hands with an extraorbinant debt to repay.

Considering the social stigma surrounding the freedman at that time, and the pervasive mistreatment of blacks before and after the civil war, I'm and many are inclined to believe those men weren't mostly fighting because they say blacks as equals, but more so for the unity of our states.

You're not gonna pass that intellectually shallow appraisal of the racial attitudes of civil war vets past anyone with a brain bigger than a pea

Valiant fight nonetheless but let's not act like they didn't spit on their fellow citizen right after they freed him

How black do you have to be to get these reparations? If a guy looks white, but his great, great, great grandpa was black, does he get them? Does Mike Tirico get them for looking black even though he claims to be white?
