He's a 27 year old QB, coming off a career year in productivity, and a threat to go to his 3rd Super Bowl before the season is over.
Throw in that you have cost-certainty for a QB that has proven they can win in the playoffs, for essentially the sweet spot of his prime-- yeah, he's worth $100M over the life of that contract, even if he isn't a $100M player today, by this-moment performance.

For the life of me I cannot understand how people's opinions of athletes can turn so hateful and ignorant.
IMO, Alex Smith and Wilson are not close to being the same caliber of QB but the question is if he is worth $100 million. If he is offered $100 million our opinion no longer matters because a thing called FACT will have surfaced.
Groot claims Wilson is slightly better but in each category specifically gave the nod to Wilson. Wouldn't that make the gap wider and wider?
