My only criticism of Wade was his inability to spread the floor when playing alongside Lebron. This really did them in against the Mavs in the finals. Also Spoelstra being a dumbass.

I also felt James and Bosh really added new things to their game when going to Miami. Wade didn't change really anything. He also was the weak link that held that team from being a true dynasty. I actually remember how he was holding the Heat back in that four year run more than the 2006 championship.

Wades resume puts him with magic mj kareem Russell Wilt LeBron Kobe Shaq Duncan?

No it does not.

He has 3 rings, a 24/5/6 career average on 49% shooting, & the 8th best PER in NBA history.

His player efficiency rating is higher than:

Barkley
Kareem
Magic
Bird
Olajuwon
Malone
Kobe
Oscar Robertson
Dr J

He's also a 10x all star, a Finals MVP, and a scoring champ.

In the 3pt era, only 5 players have averaged 27/5/6: Jordan, Bird, Kobe, Lebron and Wade.

To say he isn't in the company is asinine. He is an all time great and in his prime, one of the most unstoppable players in NBA history.

I always say this. And it sounds like i am discrediting him, but so what. It needs to be said. I loved him as a player, but he was a 4 year college player who wasn't truly elite until his 4th year in the NBA. By that time he was 25 years old. He had an 8 year window where he was reallllllllllly good, but by the time he was 33, he was starting his transition into becoming a role player.

Yes he won 6 rings, and was great on defense, and a very versatile player, but he just doesn't have the overall resume of say, DWade. His "slow" development into an elite player hurt him, as well as his quick decline in his early 30's.

And he's never won an MVP.
72nd in field goals
35th in free throws
69th in assists
60th in steals
35th in turnovers
54th in points
19th in ppg
90th in TS%
57th in win shares
24th in VAR

Wade is great, and was unreal during his prime, but he's not a tier 1 all timer.

Neither has Chris Paul and he is one of the 3 best PGs to ever play in the NBA. Has a case for #1, statistically.

that's nice, but his career isn't over.

And even so, those are some pretty damn good numbers considering how many players have played in the NBA.

He's 33 years old and his numbers are declining. So his per game rankings are much more likely to decline rather than improve.

Are there people saying that Chris Paul is a top 10-15 player ever?

They're great numbers. They're just not top 15 of all time numbers.

What statistics would argue that Chris Paul is tGOAT PG?

Not flaming either; genuinely curious.

6th all time PER(1st among PG)
#2 in assist % all time
highest offensive rating in league history
3rd all time in box plus minus

The first guy you point to when saying stats don't tell the whole story is Chris Paul.

Scottie is a top 25 player of all time. And in terms of passing ability and verstility he's just like LeBron.

He's one of the first guys you point to when saying that basketball is a team game and that PG play is one of the least important factors in winning games in the playoffs.

There's a couple of outliers (Isaiah Thomas, Magic) but if a point guard is the best player on your team, you aren't going to go very far.

You need winners more than you need strength at any particular position. You certainly need a guy who can take over and win a game when the opposing team puts 38 yr old Jason Terry on you and dares you to beat them. Fact is Chris Paul never has gotten it done when it matters most. Go back to his wake forest days they were #1 team in the coutry, but lost out in rd 2 of the tourney. In his NBA career he's never lead a team to more than 2 playoff series wins and that's sad.

Steph Curry was the best player on the Warriors by far.

Lebron isn't introduced as the Point guard when the game starts but there's no doubt who the playmaker is on the Cavs.

I'd add him to the list of outliers.

He also sucked by steph curry standards in the finals. He's the best player on the warriors, but he was not the best player on the warriors in that series.

LeBron isn't a point guard. You don't have to be a point guard to be a playmaker or run the offense.

James Harden isn't a point guard, Westbrook is. Lebron isn't, Chris Paul is. Whether or not they are introduced as point guard before the game starts is irrelevant. All 4 are the primary ballhandler AND playmaker. Some get it done, Paul doesn't.

I wouldn't have had a problem with what Scottie said if it wasn't for the "it's not even close" comment. If I were to assign one, the forgotten player in the Lebron James comparisons is Grant Hill in his very, very, short prime.

True. It absolutely has no relevance on the number of titles that Pippen was drafted onto the team of the GOAT.
