How would you rate Money Hill? Finally going to be able to play there soon and am excited as I've heard great things. It looked great the two times I've been to the clubhouse for events.

Money Hill is an awesome layout, they had lost their greens a few years ago but they were real good when I played a few weeks ago, most likely going back next weekend. At one time Money Hill was #1 in the state over CCL and the rest.

I don't call anything great that has greens less than 10 on the stimp

Slow greens suck. They do.

Depends on the greens. Some have to be slow due to slope severity. Seen a few courses where it'd be unfair to roll them above a 9. Still roll amazing.

Judging greens by what I'm sure are bs'd stimp numbers from the pro shop is pretty ludicrous though.

I've never had a person tell me our greens are rolling X on the stimp, the only place I've ever seen it mentioned was on the course conditions board at TPC, other than that I've played enough courses in my time to know when they are above 10 for sure. I can't wait to get on some slopey fast bent next month in Michigan and Indiana then turn around and see the hype of Ballyneal and Riverdale Dunes in July. I doubt I'll wanna play around here when I get back home.

last time I played Santa Maria, it was a random rainy weekday...not a soul on the course besides me and my group...and the old fart in the club house was a complete d-bag. And, as OP mentioned, the greens were in rough shape. Doubt I go back there...plenty of other courses in better shape that will take your money with a smile and good attitude.

I don't take any shite from that ole man. I know the guy you're talkin about.

He's been actin' da fool for years now. He's part of the allure, and ambiance, of Santa Dominguez.

Kracka said they have arrived, it's still in shitty shape condition wise, new carts or not.

New carts with gps units that actually work. Was nice keeping score on them. But the course looked bad Imo. Weeds, greens were very very spotty. Only holes that were decent were the ones in view from the clubhouse.

Has anyone played at the farm in carencro lately? I hear absolutely nothing about it around here. I wish oakborne wasn't private, I'd play there often. I really enjoyed it the couple times I've played it

Farm and Oakborne supposedly both have new greens and are in great shape, haven't been to either in a long time, I like the Farm layout.

Santa Maria may not be a desirable course, but it's sure better than Copper Mill, Beaver Creek and The Island.

Beaver Creek and Island are in far better condition than SM.

You really feel the island is a $60 course?

I've never paid $60 for the island.
$40 is the most I've ever paid to play there. It's worth about $45-50.
Even at $60 it's a pretty good deal.
