Ryen Russillo talking race- But not how you think

Russillo bringing up why is it ok to say baseball is too white, but we can't ask why is basketball too black?
It's a spinoff from the 30 for 30 last night
Figured some MSBers would be happy

He's right. Also, most definitely IN on this one.

Also, he will now be the next ESPN layoff.

Ryen has always been great at properly toeing the race debate when it comes to engaging ppl of said race. This is nothing new.

Any league being too dominant of any race is stupid. Some people like one sport more than another

Who are you referring to as "some people?"

Why? He went off on the election and politics in sports prior to the mass layoffs. This is not new. Ryen has always spoke his mind when needed

Maybe race shouldn't matter at all and the best people should rise to the highest level.

Well, he gone or demoted

Because ripping on whitey is fine and dandy, but trying to spin it around, even in an objective manner, usually doesn't end well

It's not just that it's ok to say baseball is too white while not saying other sports are too black.
It's that it's CELEBRATED when baseball becomes less white.

Again, he's had these conversations on a regular basis for years. This isn't any different than his political commentaries.
If they wanted to fire him, he'd be long gone after the Richard Dietsch podcast where he spoke candidly on ESPN and their political views

The entire argument that baseball is "too white" is stupid though. Isn't half hispanic anyways? Aren't alot of those hispanics black? Guys like Manny, Pedro, Ortiz and the new cuban kid that has already flamed out are black hispanics. If they are suggesting that there isn't enough american black representation it isn't because the MLB doesn't want them. Black Americans tend to play basketball and football first and run track 3rd before even considering baseball. That is not the MLB's fault just like it isn't the NBA's fault that more white kids play soccer and baseball.

Someone wants to be a free agent...

I think it's about 61% white. Tons of Hispanics. About 8% black I believe. Not entirely sure.
And exactly. It irritates me when the media acts like it's a race problem. There would be WAY more black players if black athletes chose baseball as their first sport. They just don't.

He's referring to people in Spain and the Phillipines loving Jai Alai. Get your mind out of that racist gutter.

I don't think the entire argument is stupid. It's just that black youth isn't playing baseball as much as they used to and you've seen a upswing in white youth playing the game/travel leagues and such.
