Hmm not sure I'd agree with that since Rangers fans like yourself are still butthurt about it

I'm not butthurt at all. We had no business even having a chance to win that series. The Jays were literally the worst match up possible for us and they had an incredible offense. The fact we even forced a game five was incredible.

1. The mound was being charged in the Nolan Ryan incident. Him putting Ventura in his place is what makes people applaud that. Comparing that to a hard slide at second base is idiotic
Well, talk about doing anything to support one guy and not the other. Why was the mound being charged? Because Nolan Ryan intentionally threw a ball at Ventura. Or better said, Ryan initiated the incident. Compare that to Bautista initiating the incident, and here you are telling me I make no sense while you're supporting the instigator and coming down against the dude who took the hard slide then had a bigger man bow up to him. Sorry, that makes no sense at all.

. Nolan Ryan didn't have a track record of starting brawls in his early 20's

3. I am 110% against hitting batters intentionally
Unless Nolan Ryan does it, apparently.

The Rangers seemed to mind losing the ALDS. If it wasn't that big a deal then they would not have had and issue with Joey. Think about it.

Lol obviously they cared at the time, but I guarantee you now that they're focused on this season, not last season.

If Bautista throws his bat to the moon in game 40 of a season he gets thrown at, no matter who they're playing.

But I really don't understand the difference in 8 games vs. 7 when there clearly is no reason to reduce it.

Part of it is there has been time to do a P.R assessment of the public's reaction. And the reaction has been a net positive for this incident. Less games. Odor is the people's champ right now most ppl love a David vs Goliath story

No way is Odor the people's champ. This dude is as bad as Carlos Gomez with his antics(better player though). He showboats as much or more than Joey Bats.

He is a punk.

Lost a playoff series in epic fashion vs landing a punch and winning a regular season series

Which is going to matter more if Texas makes the playoffs THIS season and Toronto doesn't?

Better question is, if I told you the punch scenario never happened but you get to win the playoff series last season, would you take it?

Nope.

I'd rather be sitting at 27-20 this season knowing Odor knocked the shite out of him than have won the ALDS, lost in the ALCS and be below .500 right now like Toronto is.

I was just happy to make the playoffs last year after the shite show that was 2014.

Let's stay on topic. Those are all the facts we have now. You still think you won?

You mustn't follow baseball that much if you don't understand how random the playoffs can be and would prefer to lose and not have a shot at a title so you can have that ever so important punch.

Do you believe he deserved to be punched?????

No. I think the system worked for the most part with the exception that the Rangers were pussies and made sure they wouldn't have to answer for going outside of the unwritten rules.

Mr. Bats pimps a homerun
Rangers stick him in the side in his last at bat like a bunch of vahgeenas.
Bats slides hard into second
Odor throws ball at Mr. Bats' head
Bats takes exception
Odor sucker punches him then let's his teammates restrain Bats

The waiting until the last at bat in the last game and the sucker punch were not following the unwritten rules. As a result, the vendetta will continue.

If you had asked me that question before the season started, if I would rather have won the ALDS or watched Odor punch Bautista clean in person at Globe Life Park like I did, then I probably take the playoff win because I wouldn't have thought it would happen within a million years to go along with having a 27-20 record while Toronto is below .500.

Well no, because I know we would have lost to the Royals. You don't get to just say that our road would have been different than Toronto's was if we're speaking hypotheticals. All that's happening in the equation is that Texas goes in place of Toronto and plays at a max seven more games which we ultimately lose four of them.

It's a no brainer.

Be two series away from a world series victory vs punch Bautista and win a regular season series
