No.

Every guy thinks he's a great fighter, and then you see an actual guy fight and it looks like a sissy slap fight with everyone throwing roundabout haymakers that only land by chance. Hell, watch a fight in the NBA or NFL...huge athletic guys, and they still don't know how to fight.

ETA: I've never been in a fight, but can safely say I don't know how to. I could likely flail away to protect myself, but a stand up fight against an actual fighter? Hell no.

Weight classes are highly important when all practitioners are skilled. Have you ever seen the early UFCs? Guys like Royce Gracie were dominating dudes 50+ pounds heavier.

Guys like Rocye Gracie, or just Royce Gracie, the guy that pretty much invented BJJ, who also took steroids, and also has a dick.
The difference in strength between a 180lb male and a 230lb sometimes isn't that big of a difference, so quit comparing men fighting men to women fighting men.
Women are weak. Doesn't matter how much she looks like a badass, she's as strong as a 16 year old boy who just started working out.

In fighting, serious skill and experience trumps size to a large extent. Are you confident you could beat the 135 lb male UFC champ? What about the 170 lb champ? What size UFC fighter is big enough to hang with a 240 lb dude who plays soccer and bball?

I couldn't beat any male experienced fighter, b/c they are men who have actual strength and neither could Rousey. 135lb guy, i'd have a chance but i wouldn't want to fight him. 170lb+ guy would kill me.

Some of you just can't grasp how much stronger men are than women. I feel sorry for those of you that are that weak.
Just to further illustrate how much stronger men are than women.
The world records for a 148lb woman, most likely ridiculously steroided up:
Squat: 450lb
Bench Press: 325lb
Dead lift: 529lb

From the 2015 LHSAA weight lifting championships
Squat: 455lb by a 122 lb kid
Bench Press: 340lb by a 142 lb kid
Dead Lift: 530lb by 4 different 142 lb kids.

This is just a couple of kids from Louisiana, THIS YEAR, that are in high school that are stronger than the strongest woman to ever walk the face of the earth.

she probably moves like a sloth.
SHe'd have a better chance at kicking my arse than Rousey would, but i doubt she could either.

I competed in powerlifting. Although my best training deadlift was 610 at a 180 bw when I was 19.

Most impressive lift I saw was a 650 deadlift by a 148 lb guy in college. I was once qualified to judge powerlifting in high school. But with the technology of squat suits, knee wraps, bench shirts, deadlift suits and belts; records will get broke more often now. Many lifts are gifts. Some of that shite looks like it would provide me more protection than what I wore in Afghanistan.

However if you powerlift and don't do jackshit of anything else you won't be much of an athlete. Although your potential to be a better athlete and learning explosive movements is better. Grappling strength and gym strength aren't one in the same. You are forgetting the said principle.

And Royce didn't invent bjj. Count Koma came from Japan and taught Helio Gracie and his brothers. Who in turn may have modified some techniques and put more emphasis on groundwork as opposed to standup.which is why the gracies in helio's era were successful against many of the top wrestlers and judoka as at the time. Except for Masahiko Kimura and a couple of other guys.

During Royce's rise in the early 90's he wasn't even the best of the gracies. His brother Rorion was a promoter. Rickson was not only more skilled but more athletic. Royler was smaller but more technical. Then you had the machado brothers, renzo gracie, and many others.

I think Count Koma even grappled with Teddy Roosevelt.

I'm telling you right now Ronda rousey would make me tap no questions about it. I don't have the plethora of grappling knowledge she has. Yeah I may be able to power out of something but I sure as hell will tap if she were to put me on a knee bar or heel hook which she would be able to
