We'll see about that. It's not like we're depending on our farm system to grow up fast and contribute right away. We're a big spending team with a lot of vets on the team. We're having an absolutely horrendous year... but it's not like it's in need of a complete rebuild.

Look, if you want to believe things are fine and dandy go ahead. But the Rangers are about to crash into shite for the next several years. You might not want to believe it but its coming and there aint a damn thing he will be able to do about it.

Do you not understand that sports success is cyclical? Unless you want to go into crazy levels of payroll its impossible for a team to stay on top without any bad years. On top of that the record setting number of injuries that you cant possibly blame on a gm.

they are closing in on a 100 loss season. Thats more than a bad year and you can't just say injuries and wash your hands.

he put the team together and they have gotten worse the last three years so yes, I can blame him for that.

Q had it wrong. Its not the Japanese fade, its the Jon Daniels fade.

Who gives a rat's arse if the players like the GM. I'm sure most GM's on most teams are disliked by the players. They know the GM can trade them to any crap team in exchange for a bag full of rocks at a moments notice and they cant do anything about it.

When the amount of injuries is at a HISTORIC level you can. They've used 37 pitchers this year!!! Think about that for a second.

not to the degree they dislike him.

the way he treats people pisses them off and it does not lead to guys wanting to give it their all for the club.

Who cares if the players like the GM? I mean, he's NOT their friend, and they have almost no contact with him. Whether the players like the GM is ranks about 10 millionth on a list of things to evaluate a GM.

Also, Rangers fans need to get over the Ryan obsession. There's no evidence he made any personnel decisions or any baseball decisions, yet people act like him leaving matters. He was a PR face. A good one, but still a face. His biggest contribution was hiring Maddux, who is a friggin' genius.

This team was 28-28 on June 1st. They even won that day, but two months into the year, this team had already suffered crippling injuries and was not exactly IN contention, but they weren't out of it either. Since then, they've gone 25-59 (a 48-114 pace). Now, there have been even more injuries since June 1, but the big losses were early.

This team flat gave up. It's underlying production isn't that bad, but they've been awful. Far more awful than the sum of their parts. They've been mailing it since early Jule, and that's on Wash.

Which is odd, because what I've always liked about Wash is his ability to manage people. His teams always hustled and gave you an honest effort. This season was a huge outlier for him, and I think these personal issues explain it, to a degree. He wasn't fully engaged.

That said, Wash has been absolutely awful at developing young players. He rides vets pretty hard and he has no faith in youth. the Rangers had one of the top farms in baseball, and nearly all of their graduated prospects have disappointed at the big club. After awhile, that stops being an accident, and starts being partly his fault.

I honestly really like Ron. His teams are fun, they run a ton, and they play aggressive baseball. But he's an awful tactician and he's proven a terrible manager of young talent. The Rangers need to turn the page.

when you are relying on a bunch of guys to come back from injury and be inning eaters you are going to end up using a shite load of pitchers.

I'm done. It's obvious that Dr RC is a "Nolan Guy". Look at the Rangers season records prior to Jon and then after he was hired. They don't sniff a World Series without the Soriano trade which was a JD deal.

Their top pitcher in IP has 144.1 IP, which ranks 89th in the AL (Price is over 200 IP). Only four pitchers even have 100 IP this season. Pitcher abuse is not a viable argument this year. Only one pitcher, Colby, even has a shot at pitching 150 innings this year.

When JD is shite canned in a couple years when the Rangers still suck I won't even say I told you so.

Well... maybe a little but mostly I'll just be sad b/c they'll still suck.

I only listen to them during the NBA season for the most part. I don't care for how they gargle their guest's balls and kiss up to management for every team in DFW. I instantly turn the station when they start pimping their dumbass pranks.
