They may look at Maddux as manager but I have a feeling Bogar was brought in as Daniels' man and is probably the favorite.

Thanks for the memories, Wash.

Can't say I'm distraught over this, though. Great players' manager, horrible on the field.

So is Jon Daniels fully to blame for the meltdown? I haven't followed the Rangers near as closely since I left Dallas. Everyone used to think he was a genius.

I like Jon Daniels. He's whiffed on some trades but we've been successful during his tenure.

yes. damn near every single move he has made in the last two years has completely blown up in his face.

once the checks and balances between him and Ryan were gone shite started to collapse.

he wanted all the power so he could get all the credit and now that he does he gets to have the blame.

SURELY you see how shortsighted this is? Those moves he's made over the last couple of seasons have never gotten off the ground.

This isn't the last season of MLB baseball. We'll have a much better team once guys are healthy.

You don't know what the frick you're talking about.

Jon Daniels was poisoning and Tanya Harding'ing up our guys so they couldn't play and we'd have a terrible year.

The Rangers, I'm PRETTY sure, just went through the most fluke-riddled, injury-laden season in the history of modern baseball. Attempt to step outside the bubble of just looking at W/L.

The Rangers this year have set a MLB record for most players used in a season because they have been hit so hard by injuries. If you blame that on the GM then you are dumb.
John Daniels has had some bad trades but every single GM in baseball has bad trades. John Daniels has also made the trades that built a back to back World Series team.
My god some sports fans are so damn short sighted.

If I remember correctly, "personal issues" came up with Washington a couple of years ago when they had a really good season and just blew up at the end. There were rumors of him possibly stepping down at the time but he pushed them aside saying he could handle those "issues". Now that the team has a completely shitty season, he's quitting and saying it has nothing to do with the poor performance.

Jim Bowden is reporting that it is NOT substance abuse.
quote:

Ron Washington’s resignation had nothing to do with substance abuse according to source. #Prayers with Ron and Family during this time

Ben Rogers confirms it is not substance abuse.
quote:

Wash will not be at the press conference. But as reported, can confirm, has nothing to do with substance abuse. Sad day for the Rangers

keep drinking that kool aid brah. those moves are NEVER going to get off the ground.

All moves used to be a collaborative effort. They aren't anymore and once they stopped is when shite started to fall apart. Sorry but its true.

I am and I see nothing but 4th at best in the West in the future.

and LOL saying this shite was fluke ridden. They banked on Harrison and Lewis coming back for their rotation which was dumb as hell. They traded for Prince and didn't even ask for a physical even though he looked like trash the season before. He forced Profar out there before he was ready and his body instantly said lol.

I'm sorry but he has two years of shite moves, the farm system has been depleted, the pitching outside of Yu stinks and requires them yet again to hope a bunch of injured guys get it together.

On top of that the players don't respect him at all. It was a brilliant move to come down into the clubhouse to shite on Beltre for smiling too much. Really smart.

You can wash his car along with Ben and Skin all you want. I'll saddle up with Galloway and watch everything burn down.

The Prince deal was not a bad deal... it just hasn't worked out yet. We are stocked in the middle INF and space had to be made for our rising youngsters. A lot of fans had already soured on Captain Pop Up and we were in need of a first baseman. The farm system is about to explode next season and Holland/Harrison has been injured. We have a lot of gems in A ball and some have already graduated to Double A.

If you really think our farm system is zapped, you really have no clue.

By the time anyone form the farm system is ready to be a major contributor Daniels will have been given the heave ho. So yea, its depleted enough that it aint gonna matter for him.

Seriously, though, working with a total idiot like Jon the Moron Daniels would drive me to drugs too.

It's funny, just a year or two ago he was regarded as one of the best in the business. It's crazy how quickly opinions change

Like he said. You have no idea what you are talking about.

They still have the 9th best farm system.

Talking out of your arse again. You have no idea who the players do and don't respect.

You act like the Rangers can just go pluck a top GM off the GM tree. Do you not remember the years and years of nothingness before JD got the job??

Yes I remember how shite they were. I've been a Rangers fan since I was in little league and Arlington Stadium was still one of the best minor league parks masquerading as a big league park.

Look, if you want to believe things are fine and dandy go ahead. But the Rangers are about to crash into shite for the next several years. You might not want to believe it but its coming and there aint a damn thing he will be able to do about it.

and at acting like the players dont dislike his arse.
