You aren't in the league basement. But you aren't in the group of league elite either, contrary to how many rockets fans view their team. Rockets have gotten past the first round twice in over 20 years...

We're not one of the top 5 teams this year?

Who are your top 5 teams

Look the spurs are a machine, I give credit where credit is due. Buford and Pop built a machine, they drafted well, convinced stars to stay in a small market which is near impossible to do and they've done a fantastic job. I personally believe it has more to do with drafting guys without egos like Duncan and Kawhi and surrounding them with foreigners like manu, parker, patty mills, diaw, etc and continuing that pipeline with more foreigners like gasol and bertans now. The foreign guys aren't like the american studs where they rush out of small markets the minute they can for the glitz of LA,Miami, New York.

It's a great model for sure but lets not act like San Antonio will ever be a free agent destination once the last star is gone. The spurs will go back to being a milwaukee bucks type franchise when that time comes. Superstars dont go to those small markets unless they're drafted there. The spurs in recent years get the gasol's and aldridge's bc they're chasing rings but once that opportunity is gone there is just no way. The NBA has no parity at all, there's like 12 teams that have ever won a title and for being a small market the spurs have done an unreal job and there's nothing bad I can say about the.

Take it in stride bc once its over its over, once pop is gone you'll pray for the mediocrity the rockets had for most of the 2000s. The rockets really have rebuilt without going full tank mode for years, its impressive how morey drafts so well and finds 2nd rounders like landry, parsons, etc. We never had to do a sixers "trust the process" tank job to get back to being a good team.

Except we heard from many people that the Spurs were done after the 2007 title. And we heard it again after the 2014 title. Spurs have been around for 40 seasons and have missed the playoffs a whooping 4 times. 32 of those seasons they finished above .500. It's more than just Coach Pop.

Its a small gamble. Bye bye future #1 in late first.
2/3rds of the three guys picked BEFORE this houston/laker pick will not be remembered 10 years from now. Magic is wiping the deck clear. Tank. Future.
A 6th man for the playoff run, says, we can play this game.
Fans of harden should appreciate the gesture of NOW.

no its pop, just like the patriots are bill. They lost tom brady for 4 games, plug in jimmy and go 3-1. San Antonio is a great team, they've drafted well, again like I said its no coincidence that all the foreign guys they bring in dont leave, those guys have different priorities off the court than some of these younger guys today. Its tough in small markets even a Lebron James who realized free agents weren't coming to his small market and his GM wasn't helping so he bolted.

As for the rockets, I've been a fan forever and I know we traded for #2 pick steve francis but other than yao ming and rudy gay, I cant remember us drafting in the top 10 since probably hakeem. So 2 top 10 picks in 30+ years and the success we've had is pretty impressive imo not everyone can win titles over and over, you guys won 5 we won 2, we're not exactly the cleveland browns of the NBA. When buford and pop are gone, houston will be a premier destination for free agents while san antonio will be a small market with nothing to offer. If you don't see that then I dont know what to tell you.

The Spurs were making the playoffs while being 20 games below .500 before David Robinson.

I guess their division was the worst in the league or something. So they were making the playoffs even while being terrible.

You tried to pull a fast one hoping nobody would know that crap.

So you're telling me trading:

Holiday
Hield
2017 and 2019 1st unprotected
2018 swap

Is going to make this team better than simply signing Barnes outright while keeping all those resources.

Okay. Sounds good, because George and Davis alone are going to be enough.

Yep. George is a top 10 player. Holiday Idk if he is even top 50. Barnes def not top 50. Hield. Not even top 200.

More playoff series wins than your Spurs. In recent history.

AC has more titles in recent history than cc, too.

Hell, AC WON more playoff games just last year than cc played, for crying out loud
