The biggest difference this season for Dallas is they have finally figured out how to close out games. They were either dead last or close to it in 3rd period goal differential a season ago. This year, Ruff finally got the memo to keep his foot on the gas late in games.

YOU JINXED IT!!!!!

Toronto, or I guess Reimer, has the Stars' number this season.

I definitely enjoyed watching the hockey HOF inductees the other night.

That damn swede Lidstrom was something else. 7 norris trophies. helluva D man.

Then there was ole sergei federov his buddy. enjoyed watching those two play.

and of course chrissy pronger from dryden, ontario. great competitor with a killer slapshot.

Wyshynki did a nice piece on Sergei. He really was a drama queen. Those were fun times.
Kournikova, Nike, and Soviet slurs: Sergei Fedorov’s controversial Hall of Fame legacy.

Nicky Lidstrom was of course pure class in his speech.

Pronger was a big clown, but I always had a soft spot for him after watching the game where the puck hit him and caused the heart attack or whatever exactly it was.

it sucks going from 12 games last night to only 2 tonight. I like it when it feels like a personal competition to change the channel well

That was a fun game. Congrats on the shootout. I'll take a point.

Man I love watching Brendan Gallagher play. The kid is just scrappy. He fights for every inch in front of that net. And he's such a little guy.

We need the MVP back, but I'm proud of the way Condon is playing.

Frick Crosby though.

Fedorov was awesome. Here's what's amazing: we tended to think of the Russians as joyless automatons back during the Cold War, but since the fall of the USSR, almost every Russian superstar who has come over has been a total joyful nutball. Fedorov is the gold standard, but man, Russians are crazy. How did we ever think they were grim and soulless?

Good match up tonight with Blues at Rangers

Usually the Blues are going into a game like this on a back to back and 3 out of 5 days deal.

Still think injuries will only help them, as they wont be gassed because of hitchs system.

Capitol fans:

Will be in DC for March game vs Blues, any opinion on best place to get tickets or should i wait till few games before, etc? Also, best sections?

So happy Dallas is finally playing well all over the ice. I've had season tickets the last three years and it's been fun thus far. I'll never forget a few of my friends laughing at me when I told them getting Seguin made the Stars the brightest team in DFW for the future. Hope this continues.

I almost pulled the trigger on season tickets this year. I have a half season package I live in SW Arlington and just ride the TRE from the Bell helicopter station every game. pretty convenient actually

in the last Nike commercial embedded in that article, where the insane goalie is working at a fast food restaurant, I think that's Mac from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and the other dude is Finch from American Pie.

Ovi scored the goal to pass Federov on the all-time goal-scoring list for Russian born players, only to have the goal wiped out by offside, detected on a coach's challenge. The Caps are now 1 for 7 on coach's challenges on the season, having had five goals taken off the board, three of them by Ovi due to an action of Justin Williams.

Williams joked to the press last night that he should be up for the Selke for all of the Ovi goals he has prevented.
