As expected, Fleury and Maatta returned to full practice and are good to go for Round 1. Nice week of rest for both.
Malkin returned to practice as well but he'll be late in the series to return, if it goes late.

McDonagh and Girardi also showed up for Rangers practice. I, for one, am shocked that injured players are suddenly healthy in time for the playoffs. It's almost as if there are different standards for injury in the playoffs.

McDonagh is out though. He's the same as Malkin, non contact jersey and if they return, will be later in the series.
Rangers will need him a lot more than the Pens will need Malkin though.
That being said, Pens in 5 and Malkin gets extra rest until Rd 2.
Penguins also announced they'll be wearing the alternate black and gold jerseys at home during the playoffs. More signs that the Pens will be switching their color scheme back to gold full time very soon. Thankfully.

McDonagh is key to the Rangers success. Also need Nash to start producing something other than empty netters. Pittsburgh is a buzzsaw right now, I will be surprised if the Rangers win more than 1 game in this series. Really requires some lineup changes that AV is unwilling to make. Neither Staal is doing anything worthwhile.
I hope I'm wrong, but I'm not seeing it this year.

Seguin was at morning practice today with Dallas.
Always a good sign.

you'd like to hope we could get through the first round without him

Yeah, that's why I was actually glad the Islanders threw that game. They'd have been a tougher match up if for no other reason than health.
Henrik could always stand on his head, but I'll take my chances against that D corp right now.
Hoping the Pens roll like they should, but playoffs are a different animal and nothing is guaranteed.

You in Nash man? I'm moving there this week.
Im heading to at least one game this series at home. Work/girlfriend/rugby has kept me away from a game in about 3 months, but I wouldnt miss a playoff game.
