I'm also assuming Lance Stephenson remains with the Pacers in my rankings, though if Love goes to Cleveland, they get the top seed even if the Pacers have Stephenson.

Toronto played way over their heads. They're going to drop way back. To being an even .500 team

Yeah, They had a legit shot at the conference finals this year. They still have a pretty nice core. In the East, maybe they can make that next step.

The Cavs had back to back 60 win seasons with Lebron in 2008-2009. He's better now than he was then. I think the supporting cast might be better now too especially if Mike Miller and Ray Allen sign on. I don't know that they will win it all, but they should be favorite in the East I think. If they get Kevin Love, especially without losing Wiggins, it's curtains for the East.

I think people are underestimating the heat and overestimating the Knicks

The Knicks didn't make the playoffs last year and they just lost one of their best players (chandler) and haven't added anyone besides Phil Jackson as a GM

Heat on the other hand can still be a top 4 team with bosh wade and deng and some role players

Knicks also added Samuel Dalembert, Jose Calderon, drafted CleAnthony Early. And Hardaway Jr will be in his 2nd year. Re-signed Melo, still have Shumpart and JR Smith. And Phil can handle those egos. And you never know.... Amare might have a decent season. When he saw legit minutes he was alright last year. Just needs to stay on the floor.

Heat lost LBJ. Don't care who you have or sign. You're gonna be worse, and most likely a good bit worse. Gonna make playoffs and most likely a top 5 seed... But gonna struggle. A lot depends on what Spo does as a coach, especially with Bosh's role.

Taking into account Deng to Miami...

1. Cleveland
2. Indiana (They could self destruct which would not surprise me)
3. Chicago
4. Miami
5. Toronto
6. Brooklyn
7. Charlotte
8. Atlanta

Honestly IDFK... The East is just like the West now in terms of teams being so close to each other.

I switched Miami and Indy and moved Charlotte and the Wizards above Brooklyn. I honestly don't know, the East is going to be one interesting clusterfrick next year.

Chicago
Cleveland
Miami
Indiana
Charlotte
Washington
Brooklyn
New York

Just not buying Cleveland as such a lock for the #1 seed.

When you take into account 4 straight final appearances and the Olympics, LeBron has played more minutes than anyone in the NBA and by a large margin.

You could see the effect it had on him this past season. He had to coast a lot this past season, which is why Miami's record was pretty meh during this calendar year despite the East being so bad.

Then take into account Kyrie's injury problems, a young roster, and an improving East I don't see it being too easy.

Agreed. Lebron is that best player in the world, but that's a ton more wins he has to get to take the top seed. Probably 3rd this year without Love, and really start raping shite as Irving and Wiggins mature.

I know that he coasts man, I disagree that it is an affect of playing too much.

It's preventative, not reactive. The NBA is a grind and a ton of players do this.

You are insinuating Lebron is slowing down. He had one of his best seasons ever last year, and not once did his numbers significantly dip at any point in the season, including the playoffs.

No I'm not. I'm just saying he can't carry a team to a 60 win season like he did in the past.

His defensive numbers did pretty much across the board.

It isn't a knock against LeBron. He's just taking care of himself, so he isn't worn down by the time the playoffs come around. It is a pretty valid reason to think they won't end up with the number 1 seed.

Had DWade played in even 70 games(he played in 54), they win 60 easily(they won 54).

Right, so it's preventative.

You said in your original post that "you could see the effect it had on him this past season"...As if he was wore down.
