Harvin = toxic, that's what this trade says to me.

Needless to say, Minnesota got the better end of the deal. Instead of trading for Harvin and dropping serious money to sign him, the Seahawks could have had Cordarelle Patterson, a younger, less-glassy WR.

And, oh by the way, another Florida Gator problem child. What was Urban putting in the water down there?

The popular people on the fantasy board won't like you talking bad about Patterson.

He was an amazing returner last year. Rookie contract, no extensive migraine or injury history, and no off the field issues.

I would take Patterson everyday over Percy with all factors considered.

Past 2 seasons (i.e., since Patterson was drafted with the Vikings' pick from the Harvin trade):

Harvin: 6 games, 23 receptions, 150 yards; $11M salary (+ $12M signing bonus)
Patterson: 22 games, 62 receptions, 673 yards; $700K salary (+ $3.6M signing bonus)

You're right, Vikings definitely lost.

u serious?

You do realize who you are trying to troll, right?

That's clowish

Harvin through first 22 games: 1,672 return yards, 3 TDs, 1,288 total yards, 9 TD
Patterson though first 22 games: 1,744 return yards 2TDs; 928 total yards, 8 TDs

So if you're counting at home, Harvin has 2 more total TDs and about 400 more total yards

but yes Patterson is the GOAT!!!!

Are 2 total TDs and 400 total yards worth $10.3M? Because that's what you're trying to argue.

Saying that the Vikings won the trade and that Patterson has been by far the better value the past two seasons is =/= saying Patterson is the better player. The Vikings clearly won the trade; only an idiot would disagree. Patterson is on his first contract, he is consistently and reliably on the field, and he is still with the team. Harvin is the 6th highest-paid WR in the league, is not consistently on the field, and is not still with the team. Their production has been roughly equal, but Harvin has been paid >15x as much. I also think it's fair to say the Seahawks would've been better off drafting Patterson than trading for Harvin, given how things have played out.

Harvin, when healthy and when not fighting teammates (two things that, apparently, seldom occur), is obviously the better player. If your jimmies are rustled because you thought I was suggesting otherwise, you're mistaken.

You still haven't proven how Harvin is an important piece of that offense that helps them win games.

here's my thing... the Jets need to just suck and then clean house

if the pick was higher than a 5th it was too high

A source tells the Seattle Times that Percy Harvin got into an altercation with Golden Tate during Super Bowl week last season, resulting in a black eye for Tate. This confirms an initial report from The Sideline View's Lance Zierlein. A source also tells the Seattle Times that Harvin had an altercation with Doug Baldwin in August that resulted in Baldwin getting a cut on his chin. A final straw was reportedly Harvin balking about going back into last week's game against Dallas, possibly angry over not being used more early on. Zierlein was told "Harvin's anger issues are just too much to deal with and he could single handedly bring down team chemistry."

I always thought he was a pussy because of the migraines but it sounds like he's beating arse in the locker room.
