What? So you are cool with beating the shite out kf women then? I guess that is your stance. I for one, am against both. And wish the President would have had the balls to do the right thing in both cases

Hell, I don't care about either since neither affects my life and I didn't know any of the people involved.

I don't see why anyone cares about either actually.

Except this has more to do with the fact that joe Mixon is a football player. We aren't even talking about this if it was some normal person, cause that normal person would probably be in jail or something

Truth. Athletes aren't normal people in our society.

They get the same elevation above the law as cops do.

Not at all but do you think this comment

is actually worried about violence against women or is he just bitching about people calling out racism?

Not really. It has to do more with the fact of the modern day social media mob mentality in my opinion. If you get on the bad side of it, you are toast. If Mixon had done this in November of this year, he would have been kicked out of school too. Remember the social media mob was loving them some violence against women this year. He got lucky he did it last year when nobody seemed to mind beating on women

Unless you know them, were directly involved, or it affects your life in some way, why would you care?

Would your life be any different had you never heard that these events occurred?

it has everything to do with hI'm being a football player. Plus, what the SAE kids did was caught on video. If tomorrow, there was a video on the Internet of me beating thr shite out of some girl, I would definitely be in trouble. Because I'm A) not a football player and B) my actions are on video. Mixon was suspended for a year, and now he's let back...because he's good

I somehwhat agree with what you are saying. But, this incident of him breaking a woman's face was on video, but nobody cared last year. But then, all of a sudden this year the soup du jour was woman beating, and you better lose your job/everything if you are caught doing it

Me? I don't particularly care. And hasn't affected my life. But I don't encompass everyone.

A blanket statement that no one should care about these news stories is a little much, as they both are hot button issues in the US (and world) today. Violence against women particularly with regards to athletes. Racism with regards to everything lately.

Just saying that these are issues that many Americans have chosen to become vocal about. Hence there are probably a lot of people caring.

Dude my life would honestly be the same if I never knew about 9/11, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't care about it

To be fair only black athletes get the pass, a normal black student would get expelled for violence against a white female. Good thing Mixon can run the football or he might have gotten shot by a cop or someone that would championed by most posters on this site

Good for you. The correct position to hold.

I didn't say that no one should care, just that those affected by it or impacted by it.

I'm not a fan of internet warriors, the people who search for someone to attack in the name of social morality.

It is a mask, a fake presentation for others so that they get the satisfaction of believing people think they are socially conscious.

I'm of the group of people who believe both acts are despicable, but one definitely didn't warrant the level of punishment, while the other warranted much more.

But like I said, in the end, neither instance affected me or my life so the outcomes matter little.

That is stupid. Your life would not be the same.

Legislation affecting all of our lives was passed, our country entered into a war that is costing us a lot of money, and I could list even more.

If you didn't know about 9/11, you were still greatly affected.
