Those responders were probably also assigned to the game also. You then have to have sherriff deputies etc to overlap things also.

It's just something you have to look at when making the decision. The time between the accident and game time also. You had to probably pull the escorts from the teams also. Which usually isn't big deal in Stillwater, since the Holiday inn is clise. But let's say it was in Baton Rouge think how hard the visitor and LSU busses would have getting to stadium.

I must admit though, I keep forgetting that is was over 30 people injured.

That's a lot of people.

I imagine they handled this situation incredibly well.

Still feel so terrible about this.

Canceling the game means a large crowd dispersing. Not good during a disaster like this. Playing the game meant everybody is staying out for a few hours so officials can better take care of the situation.

Besides that, a football game is a 0 compared to the losses of lives. Canceling the game as a gesture implies that the game is anywhere near on par with that, and I think it would have been a misguided gesture.

Playing the game was the right thing to do functionally and rhetorically.

Tuscaloosa did okay when there were thousands of casualties on April 27, 2011.

They ran out of ambulances in Stillwater and were putting casualties in the back of pick-ups. I've only been there once, but Stillwater is not a big city by any means.

The person who did this should be executed because they are either a) a psycho or b) too stupid and intoxicated to operate a vehicle. Either way, they are dangerous and we should kill them and not let them reproduce

I understand the message behind the gesture. But Yes it's excessive. Not to make light but people get murdered all the time. It's not like a tornado decimated the city.
