Stupid arse new playoff crap has the top teams playing Jr High teams in the first round.

Neville will do that to South Terrebonne.

I feel bad for STHS. They didn't make the playoffs originally but got in at the last minute because of Vandebilt's forfeit. They were still the 33 seed but got in because they split district with the Vanderbilt forfeit.

And now they get the "pleasure" of driving 6 hours to Monroe to lose by 7 touchdowns.

Yea it won't get any better.....and take into account Byrd who no matter what if they have to travel for a game will travel at least 3 hrs.....more if they have to go to NO. If the playoffs stay like they are that is every year because Byrd will get in every year no matter what with how Division 1 is setup LOL.

Byrd is in a good spot this year as a 2 seed. From what I've heard, higher seed is home in Division 1 no matter what. Is that correct?

Could be...I haven't heard that. However, I'm not the keeper of all knowledge. It would make sense I think.

That doesn't make sense. Byrd is 2 and Catholic is 3.

Higher seed would go to Byrd.

Both teams would have played at home the prior week.

If they used the rule about teams not travelling two weeks in a row, I think Byrd would be at home against Catholic and on the road against Holy Cross.

Just one more needle in the haystack of a cluster that is the LHSAA playoffs.

If the team my son is on wins the State title I think I'll feel like it's been lessened since the split and isn't as big a deal. YES it's still a big deal BUT with the select/nonselect division it just isn't the same as winning "the" state title. You know?

VC is impressive for a 1-A school. It's a shame they wont get to play haynesville.

They've done relatively well over the years even before Trev Faulk was our coach. I think everyone is guessing that we'll meet up with Ouachita Christian ... idk. I'm nervous for next week if it's Central Catholic. They almost beat us the first game and they DO NOT like us .. it's gotten to be quite a rivalry with LOTS of flags being tossed during the game.

I'm the mom and don't really know how to "evaluate" our coaching staff but I've been in pregame meals where they're talking xs and os with the kids ... I'm impressed. I'm even more impressed with them as PEOPLE and teachers of our children.

Good luck to all ... we'll enjoy our bye tonight.

The ej/35 game is intriguing to me... I've heard everything from upset alert to over at halftime... Salt knows how big a hurdle is to get a first playoff win in years is lol... At Chalmette it didn't come until we played a 31 seed in round 1... But once he gets it, its football and they'll be fine

That town is the shithole of Louisiana. I wouldn't root for them to win if they were playing Al-Qaeda.

And if that a-hole cop Disco still works over there, someone tell him to go frick himself...or his brother...or whatever they do in that town for jollies.

Sorry for hijack. Carry on.
