My thoughts:

What a pass/play by SA to win on Saturday. Felt really bad for the great fans I met in Wales. (As my friend is part of the WRU, I got to do a nice tour of the Newport Dragons training facility)

NZ was men against boys. They were just so clinical.

The highlight of the IReland game was National Anthems Argentina's game plan was just terrific, they attacked in all the right places. My only complaint was Ireland kept kicking ball away with Bowe injured and Zebo on the bench, it did not make sense.

Hard luck to the Scots who did everything they could to win the game, but hopefully this will wake up the Aussies moving forward.

And sitting in my office today, and I am still hungover from Sunday night in Cardiff

All eyes on Pocock and Folau at training today. Mostly Pocock. Beale did a good job the other day in place of Izzy. The Australian backrow was lost without Pocock, the ball stealing ninja.

This is the sloppiest I've ever seen New Zealand play.

And Dan Carter is playing like garbage this tournament.

ETA: Carter's drop goal was pretty nice though.

SPOILERS

After a sloppy first half, the All Blacks showed up in the second and came away with the win.

Carter, who has played like garbage most of this World Cup, turned on with about 30 minutes left and guided New Zealand to the win.

Agreed. Saw it in person a couple weeks ago. Even though I was behind it, it was still absolutely awesome.

Sir Clive's angling for a new job

quote:

Rugby Football Union chief Ian Ritchie should "not be allowed anywhere near" the review panel into England's World Cup failure, says Sir Clive Woodward.

Ritchie was responsible for handing current head coach Stuart Lancaster a six-year contract in October 2014.

Ritchie will lead a five-man panel, set up after England became the first hosts to be eliminated in the group stage after finishing third in Pool A.

"I was staggered," England's 2003 World Cup-winning coach told the Daily Mail.

Woodward added: "Ritchie has overseen England's worst World Cup and over the last four years has got far too close to the team for a man with zero experience or knowledge.
