Led the league in receiving last year, in 14 games.

OBJ is a stud. There is no question about that. And his numbers the last couple of months are about as good as anyone's. But I tend to agree with Vick's that they don't tell the whole story.

The way I think about it is this: You get to pick a 100% fully healthy WR to play on your team for one game, who do you want? To me, the answer is still
1) Calvin
2) Julio, Green, Dez, Demaryius, Gordon

These guys can do it all. And what sets them apart is their height and ability to go up and get a jump ball. I would put OBJ in the next tier of WRs with Brown, Nelson, Sanders, etc. And that is hardly an insult to him.

I agree with all of this, but would switch Antonio Brown and Josh Gordon.

I'll give you the height, but Beckham has shown the ability to go up and get jump balls

I have watched Beckham and he is great. I think only the blue bloods of the wide receiver position are ahead of him. You clearly do not understand how perfect this situation is for him.

He has no competition for balls. Only Antonio Brown has that type of scenario, except for the fact that Bell takes a ton of touches on the ground and in the air.

His ability to create separation sure makes him look like an elite wide receiver, but we would not be fapping to him on a weekly basis if he swapped places with Watkins or Evans. The situation makes a HUGE difference on a WR.

Not sure Cruz will be close to the same. That was a really bad injury.

Odell is great and has a great future, but he is not a top 5 WR.

I'll give you top 10.

To even suggest he is better than Calvin Johnson however, its both laughable and absurd. Megatron is an absolute freak of nature.

People will dismiss this.

But, it's not that far off. He's a stud. And, he's elite. He gets more separation than just about any other WR. He's shown how great his hands are. And, he's very fast.

He may not be the best, but he's in the neighborhood.

Fringe Top 5, easily Top 10. That's my take; however, he continues this consistently, he will be considered top 5. Just not a big enough sample size yet.

This thread is a nominee for 'Most Over-Reactionary Thread of the Year,' on par with -

"Is Tom Brady done?" - circa, September 2014

Antonio doesnt have competition because he is always running wide open. Same with Odell, they are elite at getting open.

Exactly. Top 5 is just stupid. People are asking, have you watched Beckham? What about Dez last night? Julio the past two weeks? AJ last week? Calvin on Thanksgiving? Brown every week?

His seven-game stretch is awesome, but it is not totally unprecedented. Look at Josh Gordon weeks 11-17 last year.

5/125/1
14/237/1
10/261/2
7/151/1
3/67/1
6/97
7/82

Gordon got 1,020 yards in seven- game stretch. Beckham has 866 yards in his run of form.

Beckham: 61/866/6
Gordon: 52/1020/6

I already acknowledged his elite separation skills, but you just can't put him above the top five in the game at this point.

Calvin Johnson
Demariyus Thomas
Antonio Brown
Jordy Nelson
Josh Gordon
Dez Bryant
Julio Jones
Randall Cobb
AJ Green
OBJ
Jeremy Maclin
Larry Fitzgerald
Deandre Hopkins
Andre Johnson

OBJ may be the most VALUABLE WR in the NFL. He's not the best, or even close to it. That's how I would rank them as far as being a complete WR and pure talent combined.
