have they been targeted as heavily?

yes more than a few have if you include guys like K Allen and S Smith who were getting more targets per game but are out now

so fricking hilarious how some nerds want to crunch numbers all the time

funny how some nerd watches him catch with one hand in warmups with gloves that he can't wear during the game and crowns him "best hands" because of it.

not exactly. Gotta get his drops down to the actual best if you wanna claim "best hands". That's pretty obvious.

But..but... did you see him in pregame??

Google dropped passes.
Sort by drop %
Scroll down to OBJ.
He's down around 30 or so. Hard to say he has the best hands when there are 30 guys ahead of him IMO.

Dropped passes brings up a bunch of websites.

It was a simple question. What website?

Different websites have different criteria for dropped passes. Hence the easy question

Several marquee WRs have a lower drop %

then you listed Garcon afterwards on some list.

Garcon isn't a marquee WR and neither is Allen. I'm sorry but San Diego works the short passing game like no other.

hardly any explosive plays to be had in that Charger offense.

Julio also has had some fumble issues... i mean he's had a few big fumbles against the Saints in some of the good battles they've had over the years.

you are aware of that right? Julio has coughed it up in some big games vs. the Saints.

I'm not sure if OBJ has the most consistent hands in the NFL, but if I need one guy to make an incredible catch, there is no one else I'd rather than OBJ.

So Sporting Charts, which defines a drop as:

quote:

This statistic counts the number of times an intended receiver touches the ball but fails to catch it. I

So that one handed reach he had today, while getting pulled down, counts as a drop for this webiste.

And, according to that website, he has 2 drops in 133 targets. It also calculates the % based on number of targets, which is also retarded

2 drops all season. Pretty damn elite. According to that same website, Brown had a drop % of 2.8% last year too.

And NYG will be more competitive so he'll get more chances.

I would think losing 38-0 would give Julio ample chances considering they were down and throwing the ball nearly the entire game.

Regarding the Brown vs. Beckham debate, Brown didn't really play in his rookie season until he burst onto the scene with his helmet catch against Baltimore in the playoffs.

In his second season, he had over 1100 yards with 69 catches.

His stats took a dip in 2012 being hurt in a few games. And at the time, Mike Wallace was still the #1 WR in Pittsburgh.

But Brown made the jump in 2013 where he started putting up insane #s as the #1 WR.

Brown wasn't the featured WR in Pittsburgh's offense until his 4th season in the league. Beckham was featured right away.

Never like these arguments as you could just as easily say OBJ was featured right away because he was better from the start.

Of course Beckham was gonna start from day 1

Beckham was the #12 overall pick in the draft. Brown was the 195th pick in the 6th round

Brown also came into an offense whose two top WRs at the time were Mike Wallace and Hines Ward.
