Total defense, much like total offense, is a meaningless stat without context, as it has nothing to do with points scored. Especially when compiled against college football juggernauts such as Towson, North Texas, Idaho, Washington and Auburn (2012 version).

How many points does LSU get for allowing the third fewest yards against their murderers row of a schedule? At least Alabama doesn't give up points to their laughable schedule.

Scoring defense is a more meaningful stat, with ND #2 (8.93 pts/game) and LSU nearly a touchdown worse at #10 (14.63 pts/game), against LSU's decidedly weaker schedule.

Well, for starters you conveniently left out the fact that LSU held A&Ms offense to only 19 points (we averaged 48 ppg up until that point) on the road.

And its not like ND has played any offensive juggernauts either. Navy, Mich, Mich St, Purdue, Stanford, BYU, Miami... which of those is good on offense??

Your schedule looked really good on paper to begin the year, but it looks like shite now. You really haven't played anyone that great.

Navy - shite
Purdue - meh
Mich St - high early season rank, but not a good team
Michigan - borderline top 25 team
Miami - shite
Stanford - solid team, but not great
BYU - meh

None of you dlinemen would start at LSU. One lb and one cb would start at LSU.

I will say that both defenses are really good.

So who is starting at LSU? Not over Eric Reid or Loston. Also Minter is playing out of his mind this year so that's one lb you aren't gonna bench. I know Manti is a beast and y'all have a decent cb , but that's it. You know none of your dline is starting over Mingo and Monty and Logan and Freak/downs

I don't think thats true... ND has a pretty stout front 7. Their DBs are their weakness

Notre Dame's schedule did look hard during the offseason but has really fallen off.
LSU played @Florida, South car, & @ #18 Tex A&m. Notre dame hasn't played a harder schedule than that.

Maybe it's two linebackers. Non of their dline is starting over ours. We have two top 10 picks at DE and one of the top dt for the upcoming draft. I'll concede two lb spots because Minter is playing all SEC and a cb spot.

Old betting rule. Never bet against ND in a big game.

I understand this, BUT This is BY far the best team ND has faced and In Norman>.............Not a chance.

The starting ND DL is as good as the starting LSU DL. Don't be stupid homers. Their front 4 are all projected as top 2 rd picks. LSU has better depth though.

No they are not. Clearly you need to go look at mock drafts.

Between Mingo, Montgomery, downs, Johnson, Logan and ferguson...I don't agree. Mingo and Montgomery are projected top 10 and when the others come out, with the exception of downs, they'll be first rounders too. Our D-Line is the best in the country. I don't give a shite who you compare them to.
