Nick Saban: What I most feared about the playoff happened

Having 40 bowl games took away what made them special to begin with. That's what took away the interest.

Exactly. He's upset because if not for the playoff he'd have been able to run the ball down Oregon's shitty defense for 300 yards and we'd be talking about Ohio State being Rose Bowl champs.

i would argue that the bowls were more interesting last year than under the BCS.

Bowl games are just about $$$ anyways. Every other sport is championship or bust. Or at least make the playoffs or bust. frick this line of thinking from Saban.

With the exception of the 4th quarter of the Cotton Bowl, the major bowl games were largely forgettable, IMO.
