I've been to 18 stadiums (my dad and I are making the rounds) and I would have to say Kauffman is up there as one of my favorites (probably put 2nd behind Miller in Milwaukee). Very fan friendly stadium.
Of course I love the Wrigleys, Fenways, and Yankee Stadiums (Old not new) of the world, but for different reasons. None of these are very fan friendly I would say.

Been to both Chicagos, Milwaukee, Arlington, Minute Maid (and Astrodome), Kauffman, new Busch, Tropicana, Turner (and Fulton), Camden, Citizens, Nationals, both old New Yorks, Coors, and Fenway

Based on this thread, I think I'm going to have to plan a KC weekend this summer and go catch a game.

I realize some of those names are no longer current. I don't think there are many "bad" stadiums now days with most everything being new, but Oakland is defintely the worst current stadium that I've been to

I've been to Shea, Tropicana, Philly (Both Veterans and Citizens Bank Park), SunLife (When it was Pro Player), and Petco Park. Here's my ranking.
1. Petco Park- Absolutely great ballpark and atmosphere around it! It's the only "Downtown" stadium that I've ever been to. If you go to San Diego, go to Bub's outside the stadium. Best sports bar I've ever been to.
2. Citizens Bank Park- Great sightlines and Ashburn Alley is great!
3. Shea Stadium- I'm a Mets fan by birth so I'm biased but good group of fans.
4. Veterans Stadium (I've been here the most)- It was an outdated dump like Shea but the fans there were a wild bunch. I always had a story leaving there and the longtime employees (Ushers, Vendors) were great and told me many war stories in the 3 years I lived in the area and went to The Vet.
5. Tropicana Field- It's not a real ballpark but it tries unsuccessfully.
6. Pro Player- Sorry excuse for a hot, shadeless stadium, that had no business hosting baseball.
We're moving to Dayton, Ohio in July and will be visiting Cincinnati and Cleveland this year along with trying to fit in Pittsburgh and Detroit in future years.

AT&T Park in San Francisco. No other ballpark even comes close. Incredible atmosphere. Most hardcore fans outside of St. Louis in the NL.

The first three are all very nice looking stadiums. Minute Maid and Chase have the retractable roofs which can be nice, especially during the summer heat of Texas and Arizona. I think the best atmosphere of the group is the Ballpark in Arlington, and it's really not even close for me.

I'm sorry but Wrigley is a dump. Don't care it's 100 years old and historic. The stadium is falling apart and they are now just getting around to spending the $$$. I will say that around the stadium is kinda cool though.

Went to safeco last summer to watch my Twins play against King Felix. Amazing stadium! And beating the Ms in extras was sweet!!

I went in 1994 as a 13 year old.

I've only been to one: Kauffman Stadium. OP, the stadium is a lot nicer after the renovations! The fully connected concourse around the outfield is great, and there's a lot of things to see such as the Royals hall of fame. If you want world class barbecue, there is a delicious BBQ joint out past right field. This link will provide you a pretty good comprehensive summary of Kauffman.

Oh and ETA: tailgating is expected at all Chiefs and Royals games. Think SEC football tailgating except at a pro-sports venue.

Those that have not been to StL for a weekend of games should hold out their votes, even if you hate the Cardinals but can be objective, the experience will be second to none in that city.
