I think I'm going to try and follow the Avs this year. I've never associated with a specific team as Houston isn't an NHL city. Been living here for almost 9 years now and only been to a handful of Avs games, none of which were during the last 2 or 3 seasons.

So, the physical evidence is looking good for Kane right now. I also saw elsewhere that lawyers are trying to settle the civil side, so maybe this was a shakedown all along.

I'm mostly interested in the coaching carousel this year with B-Cock in Toronto, Blashill in Detroit, Bylsma in Buff, McLellan in Edmonton, and the North Dakota guy with the Flyers.

I hate Kane and the Blackhawks like every good Blues fan should however he should be in camp and let due process determine his future. ESPECIALLY in these types of cases.

Going to be watching a ton of the Oilers this year now that Cam Talbot (UAH pride) is most likely going to beat Scrivens out. Lots of interesting story lines there and I'm amped to see how they converge

Ditto. He is trash and might have put himself in a tricky spot, but if the chick is lying, she can DIAF.

Blues night at Busch stadium tonight. Cards wore these for BP tonight. Great relationship here in town between the Blues and Cardinals.

Blues wore these last year during warm up one game:

The pulling goalie rule actually existed when it was a4-on-4. It has to do with the loser point. If you already have a point in the bag, why not go all-out offense? To prevent that, they have the goalie rule.

3 on 3 is super gimmicky, but its been fun reading stories out of camp as they experiment with formations (my favorite was Ovie-Kuznetsov-Oshie... the "screw defense" formation).

On paper, this is the best Caps team ever. They have a deep defensive corps, will roll 3 scoring lines and the most expensive fourth line in the NHL. And they have a great goalie. I'm excited, but games aren't played on paper. And the Metro looks stacked.

The pull the goalie rule was put in place before the shootout was established. It kind of made sense to have it then. Not exactly sure why they didn't get rid of it after the shootout was implemented but it really doesn't matter a whole lot.

All in like a sucker for another underwhelming Avs team.

Call me old school but I would much rather welcome back the tie after 10 mins of sudden death 5 on 5 OT. 5 mins was too short but pushing it to 10 or even 20 would be far better in my opinion.

I dont think the league needs the gimmick anymore. I can live with a tie after 10 mins of overtime. 3 on 3/shootouts...blah. None of this is making or keeping fans.

I'm fine with ties. I'd also be cool with getting rid of the loser point. Just make every game worth two. Ten minute 5 on 5 sudden death and then a tie sounds good with me. Unfortunately, it does not sound good to either the owners or players.

I agree completely. I dont think the loser point nor the shoot out has led to any positive increase in popularity for the NHL.

Lets get back to our roots.

I don't know any long time NHL fans that like them either brother.

Lets extend OT to 10 or 20 mins sudden death and let the chips fall where they may.

3 point game needs to go away.

2005-2006 after the lockout was the first year of the shoot out in the NHL. Interesting.

Tom Wilson for the Caps had a great game.

Derek Roy is probably going to be signed from his PTO tomorrow for the Caps.

Other than that, Ovechkin-Kuznetsov-Oshie is going to be a fun line to watch. Kuz will get switched out with Backstrom once he is healthy again, but still it's going to be electric.

For some Sharks news, looking more and more like DeMelo will be their 6/7 D along with Tennyson. Top prospect Mueller looking AHL bound after playing 30 games in the NHL last year. Really bad sign. Hopefully he has a monster year in the AHL.
