I bet the players hate having to play on dirt. I remember this was very common in the late 80's early 90's but I see the Raiders right now have a whole infield on 1 side of the football field. Are Oak & SF the only 2 teams left to do this?

Ive seen SF playing on a football/baseball hybrid type field like Oakland within at least the last 2 seasons that's why I thought they still did.

Pretty sure the Giants moved out of Candlestick like 15 years ago.

They may hate it, but that was common for most of the NFL's history.

Giants moved into their own park in 2000.

It used to be fairly common in the NFL for football teams to play on the dirt.

Now the Raiders do it as they used to but other teams that did include

Jets
Colts
Lions
Vikings
Giants
Browns
Patriots
Rams in Anaheim
Bears in Wrigley
Falcons
Giants
Green Bay when they played in Milwaukee
Cardinals in Comiskey

A few others also.

Multipurpose stadiums were all the rage in the 70's.

That fad died out quickly though.

At one point there were 4-5 NFL teams that shared a stadium with a baseball team.

Oakland is the last one (and they hate their stadium and want out).

I started reading the OP's post and felt like this was someone watching football in 1994 for the first time.

You just saw that Oakland plays on a baseball diamond?

Along with S.F.?

Glad to see the Vikings got a new stadium so they don't have to share with the Twins anymore.

The sad thing is The Coliseum used to be one of the nicer stadiums in baseball before the Raiders moved in and ruined everything.

Look at that view. It looked like a replica of Dodger Stadium. Oakland's attendance would be a lot better if they hadn't changed the stadium so drastically.

Can we go ahead and just give dukke v the poster of the year award? He's working so hard for it.
