I really don't think many people have it on their bucket list. It really isn't an iconic stadium.

You are going to need to clarify this.

10 college football national championships
6 Super Bowls
5 Final Fours
1 Boxing Heavyweight Title Bout

No existing stadium beats that. Wrestlemania XXX is icing on the cake.

Good lord man, I guarantee there are thousands and thousands more that would rather see Tiger Stadium on a Sat night. My point was it is not a treasured stadium in the US especially to those outside the region. And no I don't think Georgia has any of those "cathedral of sports" either.

Plenty of iconic stadiums in the "other 49," my friend.

The fact that you are comparing the Superdome to arguably a top sporting landmark should say enough

The seats in front of me get sold to opposing fans almost every week. The dome is well respected and opposing fans love the atmosphere

I dont think you thought that through.

I have always wanted to see Tiger Stadium because of how great it is supposed to be.

I want to go to the Superdome because I enjoy seeing different venues.

I also want to go to a Ga Tech game to see their venue.

Edit: I no doubt assume it is a great atmosphere. But that does not make it one of the great stadiums of the US.

It's definitely an ingredient. Here's another:

Look man, I am not slammin the Saints in any way, it is just how it is. You could demolish it and put in any other stadium in the country and it will still be a few blocks from Bourbon, which is why those big games are played in Nola.

no one "goes" to the Superdome like they do other stadiums in sports...they "go to the sporting event" being held there...and that event just happens to be held there.

I love the Superdome because I got to see the Gators win their first national championship there but the venue itself is not that special. It helps that it's in a cool city like New Orleans.

Exactly. The most touristy professional stadiums in America are probably Fenway, Wrigley, MSG, Lambeau, etc. One could probably make the argument that the Cowboys stadium is more of a tourist attraction than any other stadium in the NFL.

It should probably say something that all the non-Saints fans from outside LA are in agreement, while the Saints fans are holding it in too high regard.

Another ingredient in the great stadium formula.

It was a bit embarrassing to see New Orleans have the fourth worst Super Bowl catastrophe, behind Atlanta not having a snow plow within 1000 miles, Dallas not having enough seats, and Jacksonville Jacksonvilling.
