The reason for this new stadium is Blank's greed. Plain and simple.

If Blank puts up as much money as he is as an investment, then I am all for it. It also being funded by hotel tax also is a good way of doing it. You should not have a problem with a businessman making a big investment to increase profits that also improve the city as a whole.

First off, Jerryworld is awesome.

Second off, the only good design feature of the Superdome is the noise level.

Third, That is a TERRIBLE design for a stadium. It looks more like an art museum than a stadium.

It really will come down to how the experience is for the fans going to watch the game. It will look badass for night games but the more important aspect is the experience. That is their #1 goal.

I also am a fan of traditional fields but can appreciate a great architectural design.

I'm wondering if the lower level concourse will be open to the bowl like in the Dome. Can't really tell with these renderings.

There is supposed to be a 100 yard bar that stretches from one goal line to the other. Not sure how that works but I would think all modern stadiums would have a view from the concourse.

My bad with the double post. Nothing against the new stadium, but I drive past the GA Dome every morning and I attend a game or two there every year. There is nothing wrong with it. The reason for this new stadium is Blank's greed. Plain and simple.

I believe they have estimated the renovations needed to keep the dome "on par" with other domes is close to 100million. You hav already addressed the luxury box situation, I'm sure you have seen the pathetic video boards in the dome also. My point is "the dome is fine" just isn't true. Everyone realizes the new stadium won't be ready until 2017 right??? Still have 3 more full seasons in the dome. It's not like this is happening over night

It will host all the bowls, sec championships, NFL games and can host soccer and final four.

Georgia Dome will be used for monster truck jams, motocross and other shenanigans.

Interesting pictures of what was proposed in renovating the Dome a few years ago.

They made the right call.

Let's talk about Blank's ego.

Blank said, "There will be no aspect that you'll see that I haven't approved or have been involved in. What you see, I'm going to love." As if it wasn't obvious enough, this isn't a stadium for fans, it's a monument to Blank.
