The 76ers are in full tank mode. When they have every pick it the 2030 NBA Draft, everyone will be fricked.

So the Suns essentially traded Dragic and IT for Knight, Thornton and 3 first round picks.

I don't think you can really ask for a better deal than that, if Knight re-signs.

i just don't understand what the 76ers are doing.

they should've built around MCW and the kid from Kansas

MCW is super overrated and plays one of the easiest positions to fill in the league.

Tony Wroten is no scrub. He's a bargain at that position when he gets healthy.

Surely some of the picks had to go to Philly in the MCW deal no?

They likely have their eyes on adding a PG in the draft. Wroten is not a long term option at PG at this stage of his career.

Philly got the top 5 protected pick from LA/PHX.

Sam Hinkie doesn't want to be good. He wants to be great. He worked with Morey in Houston. It's pretty clear that he knows you can pile assets more quickly if you tank, and that he knows that MCW isn't ever going to be a super star. You need some of those to really compete. The 76ers are going to land a stud in the draft and then make a trade to land a super star, and they will suddenly be great. It's so hard to crack the elite tier, but the 76ers are attempting to skip the good tier straight to the top.

@chadfordinsider By my count, 36 players traded today along with 7 1st round picks. And I’m not confident at all that’s everyone. Wow.

Wroten's alright, but he played on a terrible team so he's going to put up stats regardless. The Sixers got much better once they started playing McDaniels more minutes so obliviously they had to get rid of him. I think they're saving up for a front line of Noel, Embiid, Okafor, and then Thon Maker whenever he comes to the draft. No guards needed. Maybe they can get Mudiay, but I really thought McDaniels had the potential to be a really good player for them.

76ers are getting the lakers pick from Phoenix, which I think is great value for mcw at this point.

What a day to be out on the road at work and away from twitter for a few hours. Crazy deadline.

Yeah I don't get them letting go of McDaniels. I guess we will find out just how good he is now.

Isn't he a FA after this year?

His contract played a huge part. If he was on the normal 2nd round contract no way they trade him. But he's a restricted free agent this offseason and teams could have used the poison pill contract on the 76ers. Everyone would feel a lot different a bout mcdaniels if he makes 6 or 7 mil a year.
