Manning didn't win that game. He game managed it. GI've Kubiak credit for being conservative.

He did more to push the ball down field than Brady did. Manning just managed games while Brady is the GOAT. I'll never understand that line of thinking.

He tossed 2 TDs, was a fingertip long on a third and didn't turn the ball over, against a team coached by BB in the title game. He wasn't lighting it up, but he didn't have to take crazy chances due to the game flow either.

Was I down voted because people believe Cam Newton will not solidify himself as the best black QB of all time with a Super Bowl win (which he would almost assuredly win game MVP honors)? Or was it thinking Newton's win would be a bigger deal than Manning's second win?

Wow. Brady won a superbowl in which he threw for 145 yards.
Brady ' s first 3 titles were won with defenses that were ranked 1st 2nd,and 6th in the nfl while having the best headcoach of this generation.

No way he is back. Even if he want to come back Elway won't have him. I hope he throws a last second TD to beat the camthers but the guy is just done diddily done.

I'm pretty sure Brady only threw 1 TD pass in the entire playoffs in his first or second time there. Dude was throwing for like 150 a game and no TDs. There were probably 8 QBs in the league who would have won 1-3 SBs with those Pats teams.

Right. Also having those 3 great defenses meant Brady didn't have to take risks throwing the ball. He didn't have to force any throws because he knew their defense would get them the ball back quickly. Think about this, has Manning every been on a team that could win the Superbowl with Manning having only 145 yards passing?
You also here how Manning has had the better offensive weapons ,which he has, but what would you rather have.....
The best coach of our generation and top 2 defenses
OR
Reggie Wayne and Harrison?

Well we already got to see how good the Pats would be without Brady because Matt Cassell won 11 games when Brady went down.

Yes. His first and only Super Bowl win.

Granted he threw for 247 in that game, he still could have won the game without having to put up gaudy numbers. Why? The QB opposite him was Rex Grossman.

bullshite. the 2006 colts were horrible on defense. It's the worst ranked defense from a superbowl winning team.

They played better in the playoffs but that defense was horrible.

quote:

The 2006 Colts run defense? Staggeringly bad – they gave up 173 yards per game on the ground and an eye-popping 5.3 yards per attempt. The only other team to give up more than 170 rushing yards per game since 2000 was the 2008 Detroit Lions (172 YPG) – who went 0-16. 7 times that year the Colts gave up more than 180 yards on the ground, including 3 games over 200 and 375 yards to the Jaguars. Their incompetence against the run made them one of only 4 teams to face a higher percentage of run plays than league average. Teams ran on the Colts 54.2% of the time, compared to a league average of 45.2%.

In the interest of accuracy, Manning and HGH beat Grossman.

Even if he loses, I think Manning deserves a lot of respect. His longevity and record deserve that.

Like I said I would be happy if he won.

I think Carolina is a better team and Newton is better qb right now.

But I am sentimental to the older pros who are still out there trying to stay in the game.

In some ways, it is a no lose scenario for me since I really do not have a favorite team. And I got to see Manning/Brady one last time.

Manning can't win with this board or the media. If team loses, it is on Manning and his choking ways. If team wins, he is being carried. Hell, look at how Brady is getting no blame. Everyone is saying it is impossible to play well when getting pressured. Which I agree with btw, but Manning didnt get that luxury when the Seahawks raped him in the Super Bowl

His ego may cost the city of Denver a Super Bowl.
