I think it was just a throwback for the Oilers game. They had the black C for their other games so far.

#6 Wade Redden, a defenseman for the Blues scored on the day of Musial's death and now on the day the team honored Musial. How cool is that?

Jets just score 2 goals in about a minute to tie the islanders

And STL just took the lead on Min, 4-3, with under 6 mins to play

Wild ties it up.

These games today might have convinced me to buy NHL Gamecenter Live.

I have Gamecenter. Watching the Islanders - Jets game on my iPad (jets just won in OT) and the STL - Min on tv. I'm loving hockey season so far!

Edit: I think $50 for gamecenter is more than worth it.

I don't have cable. Have a Roku box. And they have an NHL Gamecenter Live channel. Might be well worth the $50.

There's been some sloppy play to start the year but not really as much as I would have imagined with the layoff

Can someone please explain the penalty just called on the Bruins goalie in the Boston v. Carolina game? He touched the puck before the trapezoid the announcer said. I am new to hockey and have no idea what they were talking about.

Preds taking on the Coyotes in a playoff rematch from last year.

PHX is struggling this year though, so it should be an interesting game.

When the puck is behind the goal line, goalie can only play it once it enters the trapezoid

The trapezoid rule was put in about 6 or 7 years ago to increase office. It restricts the area the goalies can play the puck so they don't just skate out and knock th puck all the way down the ice every time it's near the goal

You can thank Martin Brodeur for that rule.

I know Hextall would've slashed or cross checked the first ref to call it on him.

And meanwhile after one period Dallas and Columbus are tied 0-0.

Jagr is back from injury, Jamie Benn is back period.

Oh and Dallas has only allowed three shots on goal.

Who is the Dallas team playing tonight? CBJ with only 3 shots on goal after the 1st period. Is Dallas actually gonna attempt to play D now?
