Not a single game, but the 2016 WS has to be up there for Cleveland. Of course, it was one of the single greatest sports fan moments of my life, but being an Indians fan, having a 3-1 lead, and coming home for two and blowing it...that's bad.

At least they could console themselves with the Cavs winning 4 months earlier.

Our last championship is old enough to legally drink.

the Braves in the '91 World Series.
to go from last place the previous year to that close and lose it in extras had to hurt.

AMAZING series though.

Honestly it wasn't that bad. It was disappointing, but after that season and as bad as the team had been for the decade or so before that, it didn't hurt that bad.

I honestly would think the Pirates loss in the '92 NLCS would have hurt more. Crippled Sid Bream (who had played in Pittsburg just 2 years prior) scores the winning run from second base.

I'm a grown-arse man and I still get extremely sad/angry when i think about Saints-49ers in 2011.

If you're a falcon fan, is this considered the absolute most gut wrenching loss in the history of sports? O

Absolutely. I've seen a lot of shite as an Atlanta sports fan...that took the cake.

That was miserable. Especially knowing our pitching staff would be decimated in free agency.

I feel bad for Cleveland fans because they lost Game 7 in extra innings twice (Cubs and Marlins).

I also suspect it wasn't a lot of fun to be on the other end of the Bluegrass Miracle.

I'm a lifelong Rangers fan

Not a bandwagonner

My dad worked for the Rangers from the time i was born until i was 15

Went to hundreds of games growing up

Met all the players personally

Have all their autographs

2011 World Series was tough and still is. 2012 season made it worse. Best team in baseball the whole season in 2012 until the last couple of weeks. Window closed.

Memphis blew a 9-10 point lead in the final 3 minutes for the NCAA title in 2008.

Also, if you really thought saban would let lsu beat them twice in the same year, child please. I think most lsu fans saw a loss coming.

The frick are you talking about? This board was thinking it'd be a 21-0 LSU win.

My wife graduated from OSU and my BIL plays for Iowa state. Her old bedroom (now a "man cave") at her parents house has the wide shot of the ISU fans on the field after that game

You apparently don't know about The Drive or The Interception or The Fumble.

That game made me numb to being disappointed about a sporting event. Came in handy a few weeks later...

Remember the speed skater in the Olympics around 88 or 92. He was the best in the world. His sister dies while he is there. He falls every race he was in while leading going into the final turn.
It was brutal to watch.

Dan Jansen was his name

Yeah, that loss probably cost LSU a BCS title. What could have been.
