Even still, he's quite obviously bigger than 220. Anthony Davis is listed at 220 and Kevin Durant is listed at 240.

Pretty much what I figured. I understand that players are bigger, faster and stronger but to think the greats from the past could not compete today is way off. Could Shaq not dominate today now if he was in his prime. How far do we have to go back before athletes are considered on par with today's players.

Off-topic, but I always thought Nate Thurmond and LeBron James look alike. And they have a similar build.
Plus, Nate Thurmond is from Akron, and LeBron James is from Akron. And they both played on the Cavs.
It may be his dad

correct me if im wrong, but i dont think anyone is suggesting the "greats" couldnt compete in todays a game because they absolutely could...
but only a fool would believe that an avg player from the 80s is on par with an average player today.

Ok. Like I said when would be a fair time to assume they were as good as athletes are today. Can players shoot better now as well.

I think some of these people believe Ron Harper would never see the court now if he played. Or that Mark Price could not play effectively.
I say people like BJ Armstrong, Andrew Toney, Michael Cage, etc could compete and start in todays NBA if they were in today's NBA.

And yes, more players today can shoot better than in the past. You have 6'11 guys now-a-days who have 3-point range.

I'm going with Jordan's first 3-peat more impressive than if James wins this one. Right now there are 3 legit title contenders in the NBA (Heat, Spurs, Thunder).
When Jordan won his first 3 there was probably the best talent in NBA history.
Aside from the Bulls the other very good teams with many all-star/hof players:
Pacers with Reggie Miller
Knicks with Ewing, Xavier McDaniel and Starks
Magic with Shaq and Penny
Blazers with Clyde Drexler
Houston with Olajuwon and Horry
Suns with KJ, Barkley, Majerle
Lakers with Magic, Divac, Green, Scott, Worthy
Celtics with Bird (although severely injured), Maxwell
Hornets with Grand ma ma Johnson, Mourning, Curry
Spurs with David Robinson
Jazz with Malone and Stockton
Warriors with Mullin, Hardaway
Cavs with Daugherty, Ehlo and Price
Hawks with Blaylock, Dominique and Augmon
Sonics with Kemp, Perkins and Payton
Even a bad Nuggets team had Mutumbo, Abdul-Rauf and a very solid Laphonso Ellis
No matter how you look at it, this was a very stacked league with a great deal of balance that will probably never be seen again. If you can't acknowledge just how good the league was at this time period you are being extremely jaded and naive.

Duncan has definitely been pretty successful for the past 15 years.

Depends on how you look at it.
Like, if you're looking for someone who has played in all 15 years, then he absolutely is.
If you're looking for just the best player who has played for the majority of that span, it's obviously LeBron.

LeBron is way better than Kobe.
