Jim Salisbury? With CSN Philadelphia says he expects Hamels next start with the Rangers. Says they are one of the teams Hamels can't block a trade and they have reportedly made a very strong offer with bigtime hitting prospects.

I'm thinking it's Jorge Alfaro and Nick Williams. Alfaro is one of the top rated catching prospects in the minors and NW has made huge strides this season and has been ranked as high as top 25 by some scouts.

Jon Daniels has basically said Gallo and Mazara are off the table and untouchable and was even wary about trading ChiChi.

quote:

In a series of tweets, Rosenthal says that the Rangers will not part with 20 year old outfielder Mazara in a Hamels trade, don't want to give up righthanded pitcher Chi Chi Gonzalez, and will only give up catcher Jorge Alfaro in a deal if the Phillies kick more cash in the deal towards Hamels' contract.

Everything I've heard is Gallo is the only one not on the table.

Who would want Morse? nothing to flip. That contract is the price the Dodgers paid for the pitcher.

I will guess Williams, Profar, Alfaro, and Jackson.

It's the kind of move the Dodgers can make; take on some dead money, keep the good prospects, and, in this case, nab one of those bogus comp balance picks.

still amazed the Dodgers got Latos, Morse, and a competitive balance pick, all for taking on the salary of those involved. NO OTHER TEAM COULD BEAT THAT????

You would think a team could say, he we will throw in X player. He is not a stud but could develop for you and we will pay his salary as well.... I mean hell, that deal is great for the Dodgers.

If the Dodgers ate the salary they could flip Morse to a contender wanting a right handed power bat off the bench. Probably get something a little better than a lottery ticket, maybe a top 25 org level guy.
